Al-Anbar Province.
Hit.
Resistance fighters assault US ‘Ayn al-Asad base in Hit Thursday afternoon.
In a bulletin posted at 4:55pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short time ago more than 50 Iraqi Resistance fighters had mounted an attack on the eastern and northern gates of the US ‘Ayn al-Asad base in the western Iraqi city of Hit.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that at the time of writing some 50 Resistance fighters were battling US Marines at the two gates, but had not managed to get inside the American-occupied facility because of the stiff return fire of the Amercans.
The correspondent reported that the Resistance fighters were using various medium and heavy weapons in their assault. US helicopters had been unable to fire at the Resistance fighters because they were too close to the US Marines whom they were fighting.
Ar-Ramadi.
Fierce fighting breaks out late Thursday afternoon in ar-Ramadi.
In a bulletin posted at 6:35pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier fighting had broken out in the al-Bu Faraj aea near the al-Quds Mosque in northern ar-Ramadi between Iraqi Resistance forces and US occupation troops. It was the al-Quds Mosque that US occupation forces desecrated two weeks ago, painting crosses throughout the building and on copies of the Qur’an.
Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that more than 14 US troops were killed in the first minutes of the fighting Thursday afternoon. Two US Humvees were set ablaze. A group of Resistance fighters armed with different kinds of weapons made several attempts to swoop down on what remained of the American patrol. The correspondent reported that the Resistance fighters were pressing their attack using two date palm groves for cover.
Resistance bomb kills three US troops, wounds seven Americans as they raided houses in ar-Ramadi.
In a dispatch posted at 5:25pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded by a US foot patrol that was raiding houses and arresting local people in ar-Ramadi. Witnesses said that the blast killed three US troops and wounded seven more.
The witnesses reported that the American patrol was searching for individuals whom it had listed as “wanted” for a long time and for whom they had been offering substantial monetary rewards ミ but to no avail.
Witnesses described seeing three US troops dead in the street after the explosion. They said that seven more were wounded, four of them extremely seriously.
Resistance bombards US base east of ar-Ramadi.
In a dispatch posted at 3:30pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired eight 120mm heavy mortar rounds into the US base located east of ar-Ramadi. Residents of the al-Bu Fahd area east of ar-Ramadi told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that eight shells blasted into the American base producing violent explosions that rocked the American-occupied facility and sent plumes of smoke rising into the sky.
Massive US armored columns heading towards ar-Ramadi.
In a dispatch posted at 11:20am Mecca time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at that moment massive US military columns were headed towards the western Iraqi city of ar-Ramadi along the highway from Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam quoted eyewitnesses as saying that more than 300 US armored vehicles and tanks as well as mine sweepers were on their way towards the heart of ar-Ramadi. They reported that the roads leading to and from the city had all been closed and more than six helicopters were seen prowling the skies providing air cover for the advancing columns, in what appeared to be the preparations for a major US operation against the city.
Baghdad.
US brings in Bosnian satellite troops to serve as mine sweepers.
Advanced units of Bosnian military advisers arrived in Baghdad on Thursday to provide their support for the American occupation of Iraq.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in Baghdad reported that a source in the headquarters of the occupation authority in the area of the Republican Palace ミ known to the invaders as the “green zone” said that more than 50 Bosnian military specialists had arrived Thursday morning as part of a detachment of Bosnian sappers, experts in the disarming of bombs and land mines who are to come to Iraq to risk their lives in support of the American occupation.
Another source in the “green zone” told Mafkarat al-Islam that the troops from the largely Muslim state of Bosnia, an American satellite regime in what formerly was Yugoslavia, are to deploy along with US and Iraqi puppet units in the rebellious provinces of al-Anbar, Ninwa (around Mosul), and Baghdad.
The propaganda television station “al-‘Iraqiyah” run by the US-installed puppet “government” reported that the Bosnian contingent is part of a force to be made up of sappers from various satellites of the United States who are to serve the American occupation by disarming mines and bombs for the US soldiers.
Salah ad-Din Province.
Tuz Khurmatu
Resistance car bombing attempt on life of Iraqi puppet “deputy prime minister” leaves over 16 members of official motorcade dead Thursday morning.
Iraqi Resistance fighter drove an explosives-laden car into the motorcade of the deputy puppet “prime minister” of occupied Iraq, Ruz Nuri Shawis in Tuz Khurmatu at about 9am Thursday morning, in an attempt to liquidate the puppet official. Witnesses said that the explosion killed more than 16 persons who were riding in the motorcade, according to Mafkarat al-Islam’s correspondent in a dispatch posted at 9:55am Mecca time Thursday morning.
At the time of writing, the fate of Shawis was unclear, since the correspondent was unable to approach close enough to the scene of the attack after US and Iraqi puppet troops had cordoned the area off.
In a dispatch posted at 10:19GMT, QudsPress reported that a source in the Iraqi puppet police told their correspondent that a car bomb blew up near the deputy puppet “prime minister’s” motorcade when it was near a local restaurant. The same source claimed that the motorcade was only carrying bodyguards who work for the puppet “deputy prime minister” not the puppet “prime minister” himself. The source said that 15 of the puppet officials guards were killed in the blast and 10 more wounded.
Witnesses told QudsPress, however, that the motorcade might in fact have been carrying Shawis himself. They pointed out that large numbers of US as well as Iraqi puppet forces rushed to the scene to supervise the evacuation of the dead and wounded, having totally sealed off the area and American helicopters hovered overhead. The size and extent of direct US involvement signaled, they said, that some high official must have been in the motorcade. US forces, as a rule, only evacuate American casualties, not the casualties of their puppet troops.
Ruz Nuri Shawis, a Kurdish chauvinist collaborator, served as deputy puppet “prime minister” under the puppet “government” of Iyyad ‘Allawi, QudsPress recalled, before being reinstated as deputy puppet “prime minister” in the new “government” of Shi‘i chauvinist collaborator Ibrahim al-Ja‘fari.”
Samarra’.
Resistance bomb targets US patrol in western Samarra’.
In a dispatch posted at 3:32pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of four US Humvees on the main road in the as-Sikak neighborhood near the US base in the west of Samarra’ on Thursday. Local residents of the as-Sikak neighborhood who witnessed the attack told Mafkarat al-Islam that the blast destroyed one Humvee and killed three US troops and wounded two more.

Local residents told Mafkarat al-Islam that the blast destroyed one US Humvee and one Iraqi puppet troop transport, killing four US troops and wounding five more, and killing seven Iraqi puppet soldiers and wounding four more of them.

Three Ukrainian occupation troops killed in morning bomb blast in as-Suwayrah.
In a dispatch posted at 9:40am Mecca time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a high-explosive Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a passing Ukrainian occupation troop patrol near the old vegetable market in the middle of as-Suwayrah, south of Baghdad. Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the blast killed three Ukrainian soldiers and seriously wounded a fourth.
A source in the local puppet police also confirmed the death of three Ukrainian troops and the wounding of another. At the time of writing, the reporter said, Ukrainian and Iraqi puppet troops were encircling the area around the attack zone and had closed roads leading to it.
Al-Latifiyah.
Puppet death squad “national guards” continue stirring sectarian strife.
As the puppet regime installed by the United States in Iraq continues to escalate its death squad campaign against Sunnis and opponents of the occupation, soldiers of the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guard” killed the imam of the Ahl al-Bayt Mosque in al-Latifiyah, Shaykh ‘Imad ‘Asim al-Hamdani, and the builder of the mosque, al-Hajj Khalaf an-Najam, as they were returning home from the mosque in a car on Monday, 31 May 2005.
A statement by the Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ Scholars the highest Sunni religious authority in occupied Iraq, issued Thursday morning said that in addition, the US occupation authorities had arrested Shaykh Faysal Husayn al-‘Isawi, the representative of the Board in ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah and the Imam of the mosque in the residential area there, who also taught at the local Islamic school.

Resistance liquidates deputy puppet “governor” of Diyala Province.
An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-packed car into the motorcade of the deputy puppet “governor” of Diyala Province, Muhammad at-Tamimi in Ba ‘qubah at 8am Thursday morning local time, killing him. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the city reported witnesses as saying that the motorcade was heading towards the governorate building when the martyrdom driver blasted his black Opel car into the motorcade opposite al-Yarmuk College. Four of the deputy “governor’s” body guards were killed in the blast as well and many others were reported injured.
The Resistance organization Base Qa‘idah of the Jihad in the Land of the Two Rivers claimed responsibility for the assassination of at-Tamimi in a statement, a copy of which was obtained by Mafkarat al-Islam.

Four Americans killed in plane crash Monday admitted to have been special operations officers.
The US military admitted late on Wednesday that four US airmen who perished Monday in the crash of an Iraqi puppet regime aircraft near the Iranian border were commandos from special operations units based in Florida, USA. The Pentagon announced no cause for Monday’s crash, but the US Air Force has classified the four deaths as “non-hostile,” the American Associated Press (AP) reported.
The American special forces officers killed in the Iraqi puppet aircraft crash were Major William Downs, 40, of Winchester, Virginia; Captain Jeremy Fresques, 26, of Clarkdale, Arizona; Captain Derek Argel, 28, of Lompoc, California; and Staff Sergeant Casey Crate, 26, of Spanaway, Washington. An Iraqi pilot also died, according to the AP account of the Pentagon statement, which did not mention biographical details of the Iraqi collaborator.
The AP reported the Pentagon as saying that Major Downs was assigned to the 6th Special Operations Squadron, the American Air Force’s only unit of combat aviation advisers. It is part of Air Force Special Operations Command, providing training for foreign air force units around the world. Their mission is the air equivalent of the foreign army training mission of the notorious Green Berets.
The Pentagon said that Fresques, Argel and Crate were assigned to the 23rd Special Tactics Squadron, which performs aviation-related missions on the ground, including air traffic control, coordination between ground and air forces, battlefield weather information, combat casualty care and the recovery of personnel from behind hostile lines. Fresques and Argel had been promoted to the rank of captain the morning of their deaths, according to Lena Lopez, a spokeswoman at Air Force Special Operations Command at Hurlburt Field, Florida, where all four men were based.
The AP noted that the only other Air Force special operations airman killed thus far in Iraq was Staff Sergeant Scott D. Sather, 29, of Clio, Michigan, of the 24th Special Tactics Squadron, based at Pope Air Force Base, North Carolina. He was listed as killed in action on 8 April 2003, the day before the American invaders occupied Baghdad. The AP said that the circumstances of Sather’s death are still classified as secret.
Ninwa Province.
Mosul.
Mysterious mortar shells blast into College of Sciences of Mosul University.
An official in the College of Sciences of Mosul University told QudsPress in that northern Iraqi city that six mortar rounds crashed into the building of the college, wounding a number of students and college staff.
The source said that the shells blasted into the college building on the Mosul University campus Thursday morning, wounding three students, one woman employee and five University workers and inflicting material damage. It was not known who fired the mortar rounds into the college.
QudsPress reported that this was the first time that a Mosul University building had been struck by mortar fire, though the Engineering college of Baghdad’s al-Mustansiriyah University in the Iraqi capital’s Bab al-Mu‘azzam district, had been hit once.
QudsPress noted that Resistance organizations usually take responsibility for attacks and operations they carry out, but that no one had taken credit for the mortar barrage that landed on the Mosul University campus, causing local people to suspect that the attack was an attempt by the occupation or its stooges to try to stir up antipathy to the Resistance.
