Sunday, 29 May 2005.
Al-Anbar Province.
Al-Hadithah.
US imposes curfew on al-Hadithah, arrests residents, blows up houses, following Zionist occupation pattern.
US forces in al-Hadithah distributed leaflets on Sunday morning in which they proclaimed a curfew in the city. Meanwhile, American occupation troops arrested nine local residents in the central and southern parts of al-Hadithah, after which they destroyed their houses, in keeping with the well-known practice of the Zionist occupation forces in Palestine.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Hadithah reported witnesses as saying that American Apache helicopters began dropping leaflets declaring a curfew in the ar-Rifa‘i, and al-Haqlaniyah areas in the center and north of the city on Sunday morning.
The curfew is to begin at 12pm and last until 6am the next day. Even during times when movement is permitted, the Americans have banned the pulling of carts. The Americans threatened that they would shoot to kill anyone violating their rules.
US occupation troops used bombs and bulldozers to destroy five local homes in the middle and south of al-Hadithah, claiming that they had been used as havens for Resistance fighters whom the invader troops call “terrorists.” The Americans destroyed the houses after throwing the women who lived there out into the street, and arresting and hauling away the nine male residents, one of them an 11-year-old boy.
Al-Fallujah.
Resistance bomb leaves six US troops dead west of al-Fallujah Sunday morning.
An Iraqi Resistance bomb planted by the al-Bu ‘Alwan Bridge 30km west of al-Fallujah exploded as a troop of American soldiers was passing at 9am local time Sunday morning. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the blast destroyed one US Zil troop transport vehicle, killing and wounding all aboard.
A source in the Iraqi puppet army who refused to reveal his name told Mafkarat al-Islam that the blast, which was caused by a high-explosive bomb, killed six US troops and wounded three more. The explosion left a crater two-meters in diameter beside the bridge. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that two civilians who happened to be in the area were slightly injured as well.
The Americans responded to the attack with a mass arrest of 17 local farmers half an hour after the attack
Baghdad.
Battle rages in al-‘Amiriyah in western Baghdad on Sunday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 3:40pm Mecca time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce fighting had erupted between US occupation troops and the Iraqi Resistance in the al-‘Amiriyah area in western Baghdad and that it was still raging at the time of writing.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the area reported that the Resistance fighters were firing light and medium weapons, including mortars. The US forces were using armored vehicles and had air support from attack helicopters.
At the time of reporting, the battle had so far left eight US soldiers and 12 Iraqi puppet troops dead. Dozens more of the Americans and their Iraqi stooges had been wounded. In the course of the fighting the Resistance had set two US Humvees and a pickup belonging to the puppet troops ablaze.
Two Iraqi Resistance car bombs blasted into American and Iraqi puppet police targets in the al-‘Amiriyah area also on Sunday, al-Jazeera satellite TV reported, but offered no information on the extent or nature of US casualties.
In a dispatch posted at 8pm Sunday evening Mecca time, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that several US Humvees had been destroyed in the day’s fighting in al-‘Amiriyah and 16 US troops killed. More than 20 puppet so-called “Iraqi national guards” also died in the fighting.
The correspondent reported from the heart of the fighting zone that more than 30 Resistance fighters took part in the combat and that they managed to seize control of the whole al-‘Amiriyah area within 15 minutes after the puppet guards ミ known as the “wolf brigade” ミ fled the area.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that Resistance forces damaged a US Apache helicopter with medium machinegun fire. The Apache caught fire but the pilot managed to land it on Airport Road near by. No information was available regarding any possible casualties among the crew.
Afterwards, the Iraqi Resistance forces withdrew from the area where the battle took place. Shortly afterwards, the First Army of Muhammad Resistance organization issued a communiqu in which it took responsibility for Sunday’s battle, saying that it had killed or wounded dozens of US occupation troops and their “tails” ミ a reference to the Iraqi puppet forces. “We are showing the occupation that it is the Resistance that has the initiative and that it is the Resistance that chooses the time and place in which to wage the battles that it wants to wage with them,” the statement said.
Martyrdom car bomber blasts joint US-Iraqi puppet police patrol in Baghdad Sunday.
In a dispatch posted at 04:58 Sunday, GMC QudsPress reported from Baghdad that a short while before an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a joint US-Iraqi puppet police patrol near the puppet so-called ‘ministry of petroleum” near the al-Bab ash-Sharqi area of occupied Baghdad, according to a source in the puppet police. QudsPress reported that after the blast US forces sealed the street and closed off the area as ambulances rushed to the scene. QudsPress had no information on the extent or nature of casualties.
Puppet police continue raids, harassment of Palestinian community in al-Baladiyat area of Baghdad.
Iraqi puppet police surrounded half the residential buildings in eastern Baghdad’s al-Balaiyat district at 11am Sunday morning local time. More than 10 puppet police cars from the Baghdad al-Jadidah area raided three car parks and garages, including one where worshippers in the al-Quds Mosque park their cars.
A statement, a copy of which was received by Mafkarat al-Islam said that the puppet police carried out a number of attacks. The puppet police searched a number of cars, claiming to have received tips that said that car bomb were among the cars in those facilities ミ this despite the fact that the area had been thoroughly searched twice before in less than a month by the American and Iraqi puppet security forces ミ who found no such things.
The puppet police stole the license plates from a number of the cars parked in those facilities without making clear what sort of charge they had against the owners of any of the vehicles. The puppet police also took away the weapons from the guards of those garages, even though it is allowed to every householder to keep a weapon for self defense, and therefore it is normal for one or two weapons to be on hand in a garage to fend off car thieves.
The puppet police arrested the guard who works for the car park used by the al-Quds Mosque. The puppet officers also beat up and insulted a Palestinian, and went on to denounce all Palestinians as “terrorists” ミ using the sort of expressions common among the Zionists and US aggressors. The puppet police also issued numerous threats to all the residents of the predominantly Palestinian area that they would all be subject to more attacks and finally expelled within then next 10 days, a statement about the attack reported.
The statement called on the US-installed puppet “government” to put a halt to such inexcusable attacks on the Palestinians of the al-Baladiyat area.
Puppet “ministry of interior” to purge large number of officials for corruption, leaks to Resistance.
The puppet so-called “Iraqi ministry of the interior” has decided to fire a large number of its staff citing charges of administrative corruption and taking bribes as the reason. QudsPress reported Sunday that sources in the puppet “ministry” said that many cases of corruption had come to light, in which prisoners had been set free in return for money. The sources noted that the staff being dismissed had occupied some of the highest-ranking posts in the “ministry.”
Some of those being dismissed were also reportedly involved in selling off weapons from the puppet “interior ministry” arsenal. Some of those arms are thought to have ended up in the possession of the Iraqi Resistance.
An arrest warrant has been issued for one of the top employees of the Puppet “interior mininistry” commission. That individual is wanted in connection with allegedly leaking secret and highly critical information to the Iraqi Resistance, QudsPress reported. The sources said that in fact a number of high-ranking “interior ministry” officials were wanted in connection with the disclosure of secrets to the Resistance, among them “a substantial number of officers” in their armed forces.
QudsPress noted that administrative and financial corruption are rife in the institutions of the Iraqi puppet state. Numerous sources report that state secrets of the puppet regime “can be bought at very low prices” because corruption is so common that market forces alone have brought down the street price for secret information from all administrative departments and agencies.
Iraqi Resistance pounds puppet police station in az-Za‘faraniyah early Sunday.
Iraqi Resistance forces fired six mortar rounds into the puppet police station in az-Za‘faraniyah in southeast Baghdad at about 5:30am local time Sunday morning. QudsPress reported that the barrage left dead and wounded among the puppet police, but had no precise casualty figures.
Sources in the puppet security forces told QudsPress that the mortar shells might have been launched from gardens south of Baghdad. The sources said that the mortar rounds hit their targets, although one of them landed in the open area inside the police station.
Resistance car bomb kills officer in puppet police.
An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden car into an Iraqi puppet police patrol in the Zayunah area of eastern Baghdad near the headquarters of the so-called Assyrian Democratic Movement. An officer in the puppet police and his driver were killed in the Resistance attack, al-Jazeera satellite TV reported Sunday.
Diyala Province.
Al-Mada’in.
Resistance martyrdom car bomber blasts puppet shock troop patrol in al-Mada’in early Sunday.
An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove a white explosives-packed car into a patrol of the Iraqi puppet “interior ministry” shock troops in the al-Mada’in area southeast of Baghdad Sunday morning. A source in the puppet police told QudsPress that the car exploded in an interior square in the city, killing three members of the puppet troop patrol and wounding about five more early Sunday morning. The sources said that the blast was very powerful and in addition to inflicting the casualties on the puppet troops, it also wrecked the fronts of shops near the scene of the blast.
After the attack US and Iraqi puppet forces surrounded the area. An American helicopter came in to hover over the area, apparently searching for the Resistance attackers.
The attack came just one day after the puppet so-called “Iraqi ministry of the interior” announced “operation lightning” ミ a move to deploy 40,000 puppet troops around Baghdad in a bid to “crack down” on the Iraqi Resistance.
QudsPress reported that numerous explosions were heard in Baghdad early Sunday but the source of the blasts remained unknown.
Babil Province.
Al-Iskandariyah.
Mass resignation of puppet police, troops in al-Iskandariya.
In a bulletin posted at 11:am Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before Iraqi puppet police and military forces in al-Iskandariyah had tendered their resignations and left work en masse. Among those to quit was the puppet police chief of al-Iskandariyah himself.
The mass resignation followed a statement issued by the First Army of Muhammad Resistance organization which is active in the area in which it threatened to execute all members of the puppet police and puppet army. It said that they would be pursued even into their homes if they did not resign and stop working for the American occupation forces and their supporters.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that the occupation and its stooges are trying to keep news of the resignation out of the media lest it adversely affect the morale of other puppet forces.
More than six months ago puppet forces in the same area resigned en masse under similar circumstances. At the time the Americans responded by raising the salaries for puppet police and puppet troops to 900,000 Iraqi dinars in an attempt to persuade them to change their minds. A large number did return to work for the Americans.
Al-Yusufiyah.
Resistance martyrdom car bomb kills nine Iraqi puppet troops.
An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden car into an Iraqi puppet force check pointbetween al-Yusufiyah and al-Mahmudiyah, south of Baghdad, a source in the puppet so-called “Iraqi defense ministry” told al-Jazeera satellite TV. The blast left nine Iraqi puppet soldiers dead, the source said.
Salah ad-Din Province.
At-Tarimiyah.
Resistance martyrdom car bomber kills six US troops, five puppet “wolf brigade” soldiers in Sunday morning attack.
An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-packed car into a joint US-Iraqi column in at-Tarimiyah, north of Baghdad Sunday morning.
Captain Fadil ‘Abd al-Zahrah of the Iraqi puppet forces told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam, who went to the scene of the attack after it took place, that an Iraqi martyrdom fighter suddenly drove a late-model Mercedes into the joint column, destroying two Humvees and one large Nissan vehicle carrying Iraqi puppet so-called “wolf brigade.” The blast killed six US troops and wounded three more and killed five of the Iraqi puppet “wolf brigade” troops.
After the attack, US forces closed the road and prevented anyone from approaching.
Ninwa Province.
Mosul.
Resistance downs US Apache helicopter late Sunday afternoon.
In a bulletin posted at 7:40pm Mecca time Sunday evening, The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported from Mosul that a short while earlier the Iraqi Resistance had shot down a US Apache helicopter over the al-Ba‘aj area. Witnesses said that the helicopter was carrying out its usual daily reconnaissance activities when Iraqi Resistance fighters fired a rocket that scored a direct hit on the rear part of the aircraft, bringing it down immediately.
Witnesses confirmed that the bodies of the crew were still missing at the time of reporting and that US forces had encircled the whole area and had imposed a curfew on it as they searched for the remains of the crew.
Tall ‘Afar.
Powerful Resistance car bomb liquidates puppet police chief of Tall ‘Afar Sunday morning.
An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives packed car into the motorcade of the puppet police chief of Tall ‘Afar as it was pulling out of the cement barricades and cordon of security men that surrounded the puppet official’s house near the market in the center of Tall ‘Afar on Sunday morning.
A source in the Iraqi puppet police told Mafkarat al-Islam that the explosion of the car bomb killed puppet chief Brigadier General Sajjad Husayn along with more than 10 other persons, including his son, another puppet police officer with the rank of first lieutenant. The source reported that puppet police opened fire on the attacker as he raced towards them from a great distance ミ after they became certain of his intentions ミ but that he continued on course despite the hail of bullets directed at him and blasted into the car carrying the puppet chief.
The blast left massive destruction in its wake. US troops and their Iraqi stooge forces completely surrounded the area and were still in place at the time the correspondent’s report, posted at 9:55am Mecca time Sunday morning, was filed, even though they had already hauled away the dead from the scene.
The deadly attack came three days after Iraqi puppet security forces seized two Sunni mosques in the city and handed them over to the Shi‘i chauvinist Badr Brigades.
Al-Maysan Province.
Al-Kahla’.
Resistance attack leaves British soldier dead.
The British military authorities and the Iraqi puppet police admitted that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded, killing one British soldier and wounding an unspecified number of other British troops near al-Kahla’ in the area of al-‘Amarah in southern Iraq.
Al-Basrah Province.
Al-Basrah.
Puppet security forces function as Shi‘i sectarian death squads ミ mutilate, kill Sunni youths in al-Basrah.
Puppet security forces known as the “al-Husayn Brigade” of the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guard” murdered two Sunni youths, known for their religious devotion, on charges that they were protecting “wanted men.” The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Basrah reported that dozens of “al-Husayn Brigade” gunmen broke down the doors and smashed the window glass of the home of al-Hajj ‘Abd al-‘Aziz in the Abu al-Khasib area and then stormed inside. The puppet gunmen lead away the man’s two sons ミ As‘ad ‘Abd al-‘Aziz and ‘Ahd ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ミ and also stole large amounts of cash and gold that they found in the house, as well as the family’s cellular telephones.
The correspondent reported that the raid, which was carried out in full view of local people, took place on Friday. On Sunday morning, al-Hajj ‘Abd al-‘Aziz found the bodies of his two dead sons dumped on a local soccer field. They had been extensively mutilated according to the father, who said that the only reason for the arrest and murder of his sons by the occupation’s puppet authorities was that they were Sunni.
In keeping with American plans to spark sectarian conflict in Iraq the security forces of the puppet “government” of Ibrahim al-Ja‘fari ミ which largely consist of Shi‘i chauvinist Badr Brigade and Kurdish chauvinist Peshmergah gunmen ミ have been carrying attacks designed to deeply aggravate relations between Iraqis, whose unity is a national imperative, consistently defended by the Iraqi Resistance.
Mosques in Baghdad, and the southern cities of al-‘Amarah, an-Najaf, Karbala’, al-Basrah, as-Samawah, as-Suwayrah and others have in recent days been subject to raids as often as three times in one day, frequently during prayers. Mosques that were usually crowded are now largely empty as the authorities pursue rampant sectarianism under the approving eyes of their American masters.
Shi‘i chauvinist puppet troops raid mosque in al-Basrah Saturday.
A patrol of puppet “interior affairs” troops, that are largely made up of Shi‘i chauvinist Badr Brigade gunmen, on Saturday raided the al-Muntafik Mosque in the az-Zubayr area south of al-Basrah. The al-Basrah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the sectarian chauvinist puppet troops kicked the doors of the mosque in, and entered it from the front and the rear.
They arrested one man who worships in the mosque from his home nearby. (The mosque itself has lately been closed for worship as it has been under remodeling under the supervision of the Sunni Waqf pious endowment authorities, and construction rubble still covers the floor of the mosque.)
