Al-Anbar Province.
Hit.
Resistance ambushes American convoy west of Hit Monday morning.
Iraqi Resistance forces in the area of the western Iraqi city of Hit attacked a US military supply convoy that was heading from Baghdad towards the American ‘Ayn al-Asad base. The attack took place at Kilometer 8 on the road west of Hit at 9am Monday morning local time.
Witnesses told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that two trucks loaded with mineral water were destroyed in the attack. Four Americans were killed when the two trucks were destroyed, the witnesses said, noting that each truck in the convoy had a crew of two US troops.
Four other trucks in the convoy fled the scene of the attack, the correspondent reported.
Afterwards, US forces surrounded the area and sealed off the roads. They mounted a search for the Resistance fighters but the latter had slipped away to an unknown destination very quickly after the attack, the witnesses explained.
Ar-Ramadi.
Resistance bomb targets US patrol in ar-Ramadi at dawn Monday.
A high-explosive Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in ar-Ramadi at dawn Monday. Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb destroyed a Humvee and killed five US troops and wounded two more.
The First Army of Muhammad Resistance organization took credit for the attack in a communiqu, a copy of which was obtained by the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam.
US raids ar-Ramadi neighborhood, arrests more than 50 local residents late Monday afternoon.
In a bulletin posted at 6:07pm Mecca time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before, US forces had mounted a series of raids on the at-Ta’mim neighborhood west of ar-Ramadi where they arrested more than 50 Iraqis, including four women.
Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Americans were still at the time of reporting present in the area in strength and that they had air comver from helicopters prowling the sky above.
Al-Habbaniyah.
Resistance bombards US al-Habbaniyah base Monday afternoon.
Iraqi Resistance forces mounted a rocket attack on the US base in the area of al-Habbaniyah, west of al-Fallujah at about 4:30pm local time Monday afternoon.
Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that five rockets blasted into the base from the south. Helicopters then appeared over the facility. No smoke or fire was observed.
Al-Qa’im.
Resistance bombards US base in al-Qa’im; Americans respond with indiscriminate attack on civilian houses in the city, killing four, wounding seven on Sunday.
Iraqi Resistance forces mounted a fierce attack on the US base in the old Customs Directorate offices in al-Qa’im on Sunday. Local witnesses told QudsPress that several Resistance rockets blasted into the US headquarters on the base, sending big clouds of black smoke billowing into the air above the American occupied facility. The US made no announcement of the attack, and therefore no report on the extent of any casualties it might have sustained as a result.
After the barrage, however, American forces mounted an attack of their own at the city of al-Qa’im. Dr. Hamdi al-Alusi of al-Qa’im Hospital told QudsPress that his facility had received the bodies of four Iraqis killed in the American bombardment of the city. Seven other persons were brought or came to the hospital with wounds they received as a result of the American attack on Sunday, which the doctor noted indiscriminately targeted civilian houses. Three civilian houses were totally demolished in the American bombardment, QudsPress reported.
QudsPress noted that the city of al-Qa’im near the border with Syria came under a massive American assault recently. But after seven days of fierce fighting, during which the Americans failed to break into the city due to intensity of the defense mounted by the Resistance, the American broke off their assault and left.
Baghdad.
US closes off Abu Ghurayb town, mounts raids and searches Monday morning.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that beginning around 4am before dawn on Monday morning local time, US occupation troops with Apache helicopters providing air cover and Iraqi puppet troops along to carry out orders, surrounded the area of Abu Ghurayb town, 30km west of Baghdad. The Americans were still in place some eight hours later when the correspondent filed his report, posted at 10:51am Mecca time later that morning.
Witnesses told the correspondent that the Americans were preventing anyone from entering or leaving the town of Abu Ghurayb and they had imposed a ban on all car traffic in all neighborhoods inside Abu Ghurayb.
At the time the report was filed, US armored vehicles were massed at the western approaches to the town and helicopters were hovering over two date groves in the area as American forces in the city carried out searches of all the mosques and houses, and even the pens where sheep and other livestock are kept.
As of the time of reporting, the Resistance had not responded to the American assault.
Resistance martyrdom fighter wearing explosive belt mounts deadly attack on US soldiers in Abu Ghurayb.
In a dispatch posted at 7:35pm Mecca time Monday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short time earlier an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter wearing an explosive belt suddenly left a house in the al-Mu‘allimin neighborhood of west Abu Ghurayb and walked up to a group of US soldiers and blew himself up.
Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the blast killed four American soldiers and wounded severn more, most of them seriously. Afterwards, US forces encircled the area.
Sunni Shaykh arrested by puppet forces in Abu Ghurayb.
In a dispatch posted at 4:46pm Mecca time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the so-called “Wolf Brigade” of puppet so-called “Iraqi interior ministry” forces, backed up by US occupation troops had arrested Shaykh ‘Abd as-Salam ‘Ali Husayn as-Zabidi, a member of the Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ Scholars as he was returning to his home in Abu Ghurayb.
The Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ issued a statement saying that the puppet troops stopped the Shaykh in his car on the highway near the al-Yarmuk establishment and led him away with no explanation.
The Board noted that the arrest was part of a campaign of arrests, torture, and murder by the puppet authorities and the collaborator Badr Brigade and Peshmergah militias that have been targeting Sunni religious leaders and worshippers in an attempt to sow sectarian and ethnic conflict in Iraq as a service to the enemies of the country.
The Wolf Brigades were part of the forces that, together with US troops encircled Abu Ghurayb early Monday and proceeded with a campaign of raids and arrests in the city.
In another act of violence targeting the Sunni community, Shaykh Iyyad Khalid Muhammad as-Samarra’i, the muezzin of the al-Hamzah Mosque in al-Ghazaliyah in Baghdad was abducted under mysterious circumstances and his mutilated body near the ash-Shu‘lah slaughter house.
In a statement, the Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ Scholars, the highest Sunni religious authority in occupied Iraq, stated that the Shaykh’s cousin related that as-Samarra’i left his home in al-Ghazaliyah at 3:30pm Friday, 13 May 2005, to go to the mosque. When he still hadn’t come home Saturday morning, the Shaykh’s wife told the cousin that her husband was missing.
The cousin took one of his sons and went out to look for Shaykh Iyyad. They went to the puppet police station where they were told that a mutilated body with its hands tied had been found a short while earlier in the ad-Dahnah area opposite the ash-Shu‘lah slaughter house. The body, which a puppet police official said seemed to resemble the cousin’s description of Shaykh Iyyad, had been taken to the offices for forensic medicine.
The cousin found the body there and identified it as that of Shaykh Iyyad as-Samarra’i. The body was handed over to the family on 15 May 2005.
The cousin related that the Director of the puppet police station in al-Ghazaliyah said that Shaykh Iyyad’s hands had been bound. A drill had been used to pierce his skull. An open red wound indicated that boiling water had been poured over his body and neck. Manacles had cut his hands, his face and one eye had been mutilated, and there were other signs of torture on his hands, legs, and head. This indicated, the puppet police official said, that the motive for the crime was not robbery, even though the Shaykh’s body was found without any money or identity documents in his pocket, nor was his car recovered.
The statement by the Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ reported that Shaykh Iyyad had been know for his pleasant company and good morals.
His assassination is yet another example of how the enemies of the Iraqi people, fearful that the coming victory of the Resistance will deprive them of the power and wealth they have obtained under the US occupation, are resorting to desperate and atrocious measures to stir up sectarian conflict in an attempt to split the country.
Resistance car bomb blasts Baghdad restaurant killing seven puppet police, wounding at least 82 more.
An Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by the Haba’ibuna Restaurant in Baghdad at a time when puppet police regularly meet in the establishment to have lunch, the American Associated Press (AP) reported from Baghdad. The AP said that at least seven people were killed and at least 82 more wounded. Restaurant owner Mashari Hasan lamented to the AP that “all those people” were killed for no reason other than that they were puppet police or puppet soldiers.
Al-Kindi Hospital in Baghdad reported that it had received three dead and 54 wounded from the attack and another three corpses were brought to as-Sadr Hospital, according to the director of that institution, Rahim al-Majidi. Ten more of the wounded were taken to the Imam ‘Ali Hospital and five to Medical City, the AP reported.
Resistance liquidates aide to puppet “prime minister.”
In a bulletin posted at 9:15am Mecca time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported al-Jazeera satellite TV as saying that a short while before an aide to the puppet so-called Iraqi “prime minister” Ibrahim al-Ja‘fari had been killed by Iraqi Resistance forces.
Later the BBC reported that Major General Wa’il ar-Rubay‘i, the head of operations at the puppet so-called “ministry for national security.” and his driver were killed on their way to work Monday morning. The American Associated Press (AP) said that two carloads of Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked the puppet official’s car. An official of the puppet “interior ministry” said that the attack occurred in Baghdad’s al-Mansur neighborhood.
The BBC reported that ar-Rubay‘i had been appointed to command a special operations room recently set up to co-ordinate activities by all Iraqi puppet “ministries” and the US occupation forces in the fight against the Iraqi Resistance. Reuters reported later on Monday that an Internet website had posted an announcement in which the Resistance organization Base Qa‘idah of the Jihad in the Land of the Two Rivers took responsibility for the attack.
Army of Partisans of the Sunnah execute collaborator truck drivers.
The Army of the Partisans of the Sunnah Prophet’s Practice declared on a video broadcast on the Internet Monday that it had executed three Arab truck drivers for collaborating with US occupation forces in Iraq. The drivers, who appeared before their executions on the tape, admitted to working for firms transporting commodities to the US forces, according to Reuters.
One of the hostage drivers, Hamad Isma‘il as-Sani‘ from Jordan, advised his Jordanian brothers to stop working for the American forces immediately and called on Iraqis not to work for them either.
Reuters reported the Army of the Partisans of the Sunnah as saying that it had executed Hamad Isma‘il as-Sani‘, as well as Khayri ‘Abd al-Majid Fattuh, and Qurn Fa’iq Fadil the latter two from Iraq. It said all were shot.

A source in the Ba‘qubah puppet police confirmed to Mafkarat al-Islam that four US troops were killed and one more severely wounded ミ specifically, the source said, the soldier’s neck was broken and his chest crushed.
The Resistance organization Base Qa‘idah of the Jihad in the Land of the Two Rivers announced its responsibility for the attack in a communiqu, a copy of which was obtained by the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam.
Al-Miqdadiyah.
Resistance martyrdom bomber targets US column in al-Miqdadiyah midday Monday.

A source in the puppet so-called “anti-terrorism” force told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the car blasted the Americans near the al-Miqdadiyah primary school, destroying two American Humvees and killing and wounding nine US troops.
The correspondent reported that after the explosion, US forces encircled the whole area.
Contrary to claims by the Iraqi puppet forces claimed that the Resistance attack took place just as children were being let out of the school, the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam said that the blast took place a half hour after the children had left the school and gone home and that the street was completely empty, except for the US column, at the time of the attack.
Al-Mundhiriyah.
Resistance shoots down US helicopter near Iran border.
In a bulletin posted at 2:17pm Mecca time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier their correspondent in al-Mundhiriyah on the Iraq-Iran border confirmed that the Iraqi Resistance had shot down a US Black Hawk helicopter in the skies above the town.
The correspondent reported that fire was at that moment burning in the wreckage of the aircraft, lying in the as-Salmaniyah area. Other US helicopters were in the air, apparently searching for the crew of the downed craft. Their fate was still unknown at the time of reporting.
Al-Mada’in.
Ten Americans reported dead after Resistance car bomber blasts US column in al-Mada’in Monday afternoon.

After the attack, American troops encircled the entire area. The Americans called in helicopters, apparently to evacuate their dead from the area. At the time of reporting, the correspondent said that the helicopters were hovering in the air over the scene of the bombing.
Babil Province.
Al-Latifiyah.
Resistance eliminates Badr Brigade commander.
Iraqi Resistance forces in al-Latifiyah, 35km south of Baghdad, attacked and killed Haydar al-Musawi on Monday. Al-Musawai was a commander of the collaborationist Badr Brigades and was believed responsible for assassinating numerous Sunni religious leaders.
A source in the al-Latifiyah puppet police who asked not to be identified told Mafkarat al-Islam that Resistance forces attacked al-Musawi after he had left his office and was headed to his home in the city of al-Hillah at 2pm local time Monday afternoon. Four of al-Musawi’s aides were also killed in the Resistance attack, the source noted.
The Badr Brigades are the armed wing of the Shi‘i chauvinist collaborationist “Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq” (SCIRI). Thousands of Badr Brigade militiamen joined up with US troops to take part in the American invasion and occupation of Iraq in the spring of 2003.
