Al-Anbar Province.
Al-Habbaniyah.
Resistance car bomb blasts US column late Saturday morning.
An Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded among a column of several US Humvees east of the as-Si Si neighborhood in the west of al-Habbaniyah (70km west of Baghdad) at 11am local time Saturday. A source in the puppet so-called “Iraqi rapid deployment force” told Mafakrat al-Islam that the explosion destroyed two armored Humvees and killed six US troops and wounded two more. Lieutenant Sulayman of the city puppet police said that the blast also moderately wounded a number of Iraqis who happened to be near the scene of the attack.
Hit.
Resistance bombards US ‘Ayn al-Asad base Saturday afternoon.
Iraqi Resistance forces fired 14 mortar rounds into the US ‘Ayn al-Asad base in Hit Saturday afternoon. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the bombardment set off a series of powerful explosions inside the American camp. Helicopters could be seen flying into the area in large numbers.
A source in the Iraqi puppet forces told Mafkarat al-Islam that as a result of the barrage, several US troops were killed or wounded. The Iraqi Resistance group the Army of the Partisans of the Sunnah Prophet’s practice took responsibility for the attack in a communiqu issued immediately afterwards, a copy of which was obtained by Mafkarat al-Islam.
Al-Fallujah.
Resistance pounds US base east of al-Fallujah.
In a dispatch posted at 12:05pm Mecca time Saturday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces, apparently in the south of al-Fallujah, fired eight Grad rockets into the US base in the agricultural area east of the city. The barrage set fires and sent two plumes of dense black smoke billowing over the western and southern parts of the US base as sirens wailed inside the American-occupied facility. Three US helicopters flew in over the surrounding area and then landed in the base, apparently to evacuate casualties.
Resistance car bomb blasts US checkpoint near al-Fallujah early Saturday.
An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a US checkpoint in the al-Halabisah area on a rural road west of al-Fallujah at 8am local time Saturday morning. A source in the Iraqi puppet forces told Mafkarat al-Islam that the check point was nearly completely destroyed, killing seven US troops and wounding four more. US forces sealed off the area and brought in two helicopters that landed and immediately evacuated the dead and wounded from the area.
Al-Hasibah.
Resistance continues to control liberated city of al-Hasibah.
In a dispatch posted at 11:55am Saturday morning, Mecca time, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Iraqi Resistance was still in total control of the liberated city of al-Hasibah and all its key interchanges. Witnesses reported that US forces with helicopters providing air cover withdrew from al-Hasibah on the highway to al-Qa’im hauling dozens of American vehicles with them. The Iraqi puppet army withdrew with them.
An official spokesman for the Iraqi puppet sources acknowledged on Friday evening that the city of al-Hasibah had fallen “out of the control” of the occupation and under control of the Resistance. Colonel Nazim ad-Darraji thought it unlikely that there would be an American attack on the city in the near term, saying “we’re still treating the situation in various regions adjacent to the city of al-Hasibah and opening more than one front is not logical.”
Baghdad.
Resistance attacks US patrol on Airport road Saturday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 4:35pm Mecca time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before fighting had broken out between the Iraqi Resistance and US occupation forces on the road to Saddam International Airport.
Witnesses told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the clashes erupted when Resistance fighters intentionally planted a bomb in a place where it could be seen by the side of a road just before a US patrol was to pass by. As planned, the American patrol halted and the US troops got out of their vehicles to disarm the bomb.
Witnesses reported that when the Americans got out of their vehicles Resistance fighters armed with machine guns and pipe rockets attacked them, destroying three Humvees and killing seven US troops and wounding others.
The witnesses said two Resistance fighters were martyred as were three civilians who were in the area. When the correspondent filed his report, US forces were still surrounding the scene of the attack and had called in Apache helicopters to evacuate their casualties.
Resistance bomb targets US Marine patrol in Abu Ghurayb, Saturday afternoon.
An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the middle of the Abu Ghurayb area, 30km west of Baghdad, at 4pm Saturday afternoon, local time. A source in the local Iraqi puppet police told Mafkarat al-Islam that the blast destroyed a Humvee, killing four US Marines.
Babil Province.
Al-Latifiyah.
Resistance bombs target joint US-Iraqi puppet patrol in al-Latifiyah Saturday morning.
Two Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded by a joint US-Iraqi puppet force patrol consisting of several American Humvees and vehicles belonging to the puppet troops on the main road in al-Latifiyah, south of Baghdad, Saturday morning. Captian ‘Ali Haydar of the Iraqi puppet army acknowledged to Mafkarat al-Islam that two Humvees were destroyed and nine US soldiers were killed or wounded in the blasts.
Afterwards, US troops completely encircled the area, imposing a curfew on the district where the attack occurred. The Americans evacuated their casualties. For its part the Islamic Army in Iraq announced its responsibility for the attack in a communiqu, a copy of which was obtained by Mafkarat al-Islam.
Salah ad-Din Province.
Balad.
Resistance forces ambush US patrol in Balad.
Iraqi Resistance forces armed with shoulder-fired rockets and light weapons attacked a US patrol in the Balad area, north of Baghdad, destroying a US vehicle and seriously wounding a number of American soldiers, QudsPress reported. US troops then cordoned off the area to traffic and began a search for the attackers.
Resistance bombards US al-Bakr base in Balad.
Iraqi Resistance forces fired several rockets into the US al-Bakr military base in the area of Balad, north of Baghdad at dawn on Saturday. Witnesses told QudsPress that they saw black smoke billowing up from the US-occupied facility as American helicopters flew in over the scene.
Dhi Qar Province.
An-Nasiriyah.
Jaysh al-Mahdi militia battles Iraqi puppet troops in an-Nasiriyah early Saturday.
Fighting broke out between the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia loyal to Shi‘i religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr and Iraqi puppet troops in the city of an-Nasiriyah, south of Baghdad. Witnesses told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the city that fighting erupted again near the offices of the provincial puppet government at 8am local time Saturday and lasted for a full hour. Jaysh al-Mahdi fighters fired machine guns and pipe rockets in the battle.
The combat left four Iraqi puppet troops dead and one member of the Jaysh al-Mahdi wounded.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the fighting resumed on Satuday morning after minor clashes took place during demonstrations by Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen on Friday. Those demonstrations were protests and denunciations targeting the US over the desecration of the Holy Qur’an in the al-Quds Mosque in ar-Ramadi at the end of last week.
The Jaysh al-Mahdi withdrew from the fighting on Saturday morning after US helicopters flew in to aid the Iraqi puppet forces, and after Italian invader troops began advancing towards the scene of the battle.
Ninwa Province.
Mosul.
Resistance martyrdom fighter devastates US checkpoint in Mosul at midday Saturday.
An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden sky-blue Chevrolet into a US checkpoint in the al-Jum‘ah neighborhood in the middle of the northern Iraqi city of Mosul at 12noon local time Saturday. Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the blast destroyed the checkpoint and two Humvees, killing six American troops and wounding 11 more.
US forces raced to the scene of the devastated checkpoint and cordoned off the entire area. The Americans killed four Iraqis who had gathered around to view the scene as four American helicopters flew in. Several vehicles transported bodies of the dead to the US al-Ghazlani baase, the largest American camp in the city.
The Army of the Partisans of the Sunnah Prophet’s practice took responsibility for the attack in a communiqu issued Saturday, a copy of which was obtained by the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent. That statement said that the attack killed or wounded 18 US soldiers.
Al-Basrah Province.
Al-Basrah.
Resistance fighters eliminate four Badr Brigade gunmen in early Saturday attack.
Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a headquarters of the Shi‘i chauvinist collaborationist Badr Brigades in the Jarishan area southwest of al-Basrah. Sources in the Iraqi puppet police told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance mounted its attack at 4am local time Saturday, killing four Badr Brigade gunmen and wounding five more.
In his report filed at 12:10pm Mecca time Saturday, the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam noted that no party had at that time taken responsibility for the attack, but the local puppet police quickly blamed what it called “Sunni Wahhabis” in al-Basrah for the attack and went out and arrested a number of Sunni citizens of the city in retaliation.
The Badr Brigades are the armed wing of the Shi‘i chauvinist collaborationist “Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq” (SCIRI) thousands of whose gunmen joined up with US troops and took part in the invasion and occupation of Iraq in spring 2003. Since then, they have formed the backbone of puppet police and security services, particularly in southern parts of occupied Iraq.
