Al-Anbar Province.
Ar-Ramadi.
Fierce battle rages in village north of ar-Ramadi.
In a dispatch posted at 10:30am Monday morning, Mecca time, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at that moment fierce fighting was raging between the Iraqi Resistance and US Marines in the village of al-Bu Faraj at the northern entrance to the city of ar-Ramadi.
QudsPress reported local residents as saying that a force of between fifty and sixty Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons was fighting US troops near the al-Quds Mosque.
Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Americans had lured the Resistance fighters into an ambush in that area which they then encircled and sealed off, resulting in the battle, which they describe as being “ferocious.” Resistance fighters reportedly carried out hit-and-run attacks using the thick groves of date palms and the al-Quds ash-Sharif Mosque, which is located nearby, for cover.
QudsPress quoted witnesses as saying that the Americans were shelling date palm groves near the area, where the Resistance fighters were believed hiding, and that four US vehicles were visibly on fire. The sources said that American helicopters were in the skies over the area trying to fire at the Resistance fighters.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported that as of that time, the Resistance fighters had destroyed four US Humvees and one tank. Meanwhile, at the time of reporting, Mafkarat al-Islam said that fighters for the First Army of Muhammad had attacked the Americans and were trying to break through the US encirclement around the village to get the surrounded fighters out with a minimum of casualties, now that they have inflicted casualties and material damage on the Americans.
In a dispatch posted at 11:25am Mecca time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fighting was continuing between the US forces and Iraqi Resistance fighters, both sides alternately advancing and retreating.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before Resistance fighters had managed to open a second battle line with the Americans who had encircled a group of Resistance fighters in the village.
More than 20 Resistance fighters attacked the area from the south, firing medium mortars and rockets, and forcing open a way through to their embattled brothers inside the encircled village, according to a Resistance source. The Resistance attack destroyed three Humvees and disabled one American personnel carrier that sank in the Euphrates River there.
The correspondent reported that US helicopters and fighter planes showed up over the battle zone, an indication of the losses suffered by the Americans, since they only call in such air support when they find themselves in extremely difficult situations.
‘Anah.
US seals off ‘Anah in western Iraq besieging the city as “punishment” for harboring Resistance fighters.
US occupation forces moved in dozens of armored vehicles and encircled the town of ‘Anah, east of al-Qa’im in western Iraq, at dawn Monday. Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Americans closed the roads linking the city with the outside world and prevented any of the city residents from the city, even on foot.
A physician in the main hospital in ‘Anah told Mafkarat al-Islam by telephone (since the correspondent could not get into the city after the Americans had blockaded it) that the Americans had killed an entire Iraqi family of a man, his wife and their three children when they tried to get out of the city. An American sniper in the city shot and killed 80-year old al-Hajj Tayyib at-Tamimi as he stood in front of the door of his house.
US forces announced over loudspeakers that the city was being punished for hiding and aiding the Resistance, whom the Americans called “Iraqi and Arab insurgents.” The Americans promised to lift their siege of the city if the local citizens inform the invader troops where the Resistance fighters are in ‘Anah. US forces, for their part, announced that the siege of ‘Anah was an operation they called “Slithering Snake” and said that it would last a set time, depending on the extent to which local people cooperate with them.
Al-Hadithah.
Resistance bomb blasts US tank in al-Hadithah midday Monday.
An Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded by an American patrol on the main street in the al-‘Askari neighborhood at the western entrance to the city of al-Hadithah at 1pm Monday, local time. Local residents told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance had planted the bomb by the area where US vehicles regularly gather before being sent out on patrols inside the city. The bomb exploded by one of the American tanks, setting it on fire and killing three US soldiers and seriously wounding four other US troops.
Al-Fallujah.
Resistance sharpshooter guns down US soldier in al-Fallujah Monday afternoon.
An Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in the an-Nazal neighborhood in the southern part of al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad on Monday. Witnesses who live in an-Nazal told Mafkarat al-Islam that a Resistance sharpshooter picked off the American as he was walking in a foot patrol in the middle of their neighborhood at 3pm Monday afternoon, local time.
After the shooting, US forces surrounded the area and started searching local houses trying to find the Resistance attacker, but in vain.
Two Americans reported killed in Resistance bombing Monday morning in al-Fallujah.
An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of six US vehicles in the al-Halabisah area of western al-Fallujah on Monday morning. A source in the Iraqi puppet police told QudsPress that the bomb destroyed one American Humvee, killing two and wounding two more of the Americans aboard it.
Immediately after the blast, the source said, US forces sealed off the area and began raiding and searching houses in the area, looking for the Resistance attackers who planted the bomb. A helicopter prowled the skies above also looking for the attackers.
QudsPress noted that the attack came just hours after a Resistance mortar barrage blasted the US military camp to the north of al-Fallujah.
Resistance pounds US camp at northern entrance to al-Fallujah before dawn Monday morning.
Iraqi Resistance forces fired four heavy mortar rounds into a US camp at the northern approach to al-Fallujah at 4am Monday morning. The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet military as saying that seven US troops were killed and 13 others wounded, most of them seriously.
After evacuating their casualties, US aircraft flew sorties over the city for several hours searching for the Resistance fighters who carried out the attack, particularly concentrating on the southern parts of al-Fallujah where the shells were probably fired.
Al-Khalidiyah.
Resistance bomb destroys US armored vehicle Monday morning.
An Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded by a US armored vehicle on the as-Sakkal Road near the al-Anbiya’ Mosque in al-Khalidiyah at 9am, local time, Monday morning. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that the blast left four SU troops dead and one more severely wounded.
The US forces acknowledged the attack, saying that one soldier was killed and others wounded. Local residents discounted the official American claims, insisting that they saw four dead Americans and that the wounded man had completely lost his legs.
Resistance attacks US checkpoint in al-Khalidiyah Monday morning.
About 20 Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons attacked a US checkpoint and temporary headquarters by a bridge in the al-Khalidiyah area east of ar-Ramadi Monday morning, a local observer for QudsPress reported. The attack left one US Humvee destroyed and one American dead with six more wounded. QudsPress reported that one of the Resistance fighters was killed in the engagement and a number of others were wounded, but were able to withdraw from the scene before US helicopters showed up to search the area.
Baghdad.
Morning blast shakes “green zone.”
In a dispatch posted at 11:40am Mecca time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short time before a powerful explosion had rocked the headquarters of the US occupation and the puppet regime in the Republican Palace area of Baghdad, the district known to the invaders as the “green zone.”
Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that clouds of thick black smoke were rising over the zone and numerous helicopters could be seen hovering over the area. The cause of the explosion was unclear, though members of the “green zone” guards believed it was likely the result of a Resistance attack.
The guards confirmed that the helicopters evacuated the top American and Iraqi puppet leaders and commanders from the area, out of fears that the bombardment might be renewed.
Babil Province.
Al-Latifiyah.
Resistance targets puppet commander in al-Latifiyah.
Iraqi Resistance forces in al-Latifiyah, south of Baghdad, attempted to liquidate puppet Colonel ‘Abd as-Salam al-‘Amuri, the commander of the so-called “Scorpion force” under the puppet so-called “Iraqi ministry of the interior,” QudsPress reported Monday morning. A statement issued by the so-called “interior ministry” said that an Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded and then a battle erupted between al-‘Amuri’s bodyguards and the Resistance. The puppet “ministry” claimed that two of the Resistance fighters were killed and two others captured and that one of their attack cars was destroyed in the engagement. The “ministry” made no mention of losses sustained by the puppet forces, but said that al-‘Amuri survived the attempted assassination unscathed, QudsPress reported.
Resistance bomb wounds 10 puppet troops in al-Latifiyah.
QudsPress reported Monday that an Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded in al-Latifiyah, south of Baghdad, wounding 10 members of the puppet Brigade for Guarding the “green zone” ミ as the American invaders call the area around the Republican Palace in Baghdad where the Americans and their Iraqi stooges have their headquarters. The puppet troops were transported to the hospital in the provincial capital of al-Hillah for treatment.
Ninwa Province.
Mosul.
Resistance bomb targets US patrol killing three Americans Monday afternoon.
An Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded by a patrol of six US Humvees on the main street in the Hammam al-‘Alil district in southern Mosul at about 2pm local time Monday afternoon. Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the blast destroyed one of the vehicles and killed three US troops and wounded one other.
An-Najaf Province.
An-Najaf.
Muqtada as-Sadr denounces puppet regime’s “political process” as legitimization of the occupation.
Speaking in a rare interview with a western news agency, Shi‘i religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr denounced the US occupation and pledged “As long as the occupier is here, I will not interfere in the political process.” As-Sadr continued, saying, “I would like to condemn and denounce the last Iraqi government’s decision to legalize the occupation. Legalizing the occupation is rejected from any angle.”
During an interview with the American Associated Press (AP), Muqtada as-Sadr criticized without naming pro-American Shi‘i religious authority Ayatollah ‘Ali as-Sistani for promoting the process that led to formation of the puppet Shi‘i chauvinist collaborationist regime of Ibrahim al-Ja‘fari. “In reality,” said Muqtada as-Sadr, “the electoral process was designed to legitimize the occupation, rather than ridding the country of the occupation.”
Turning to the issue of the American forces’ desecration of the Qur’an in the American concentration camp in Guant?amo Bay, on occupied Cuban soil, and elsewhere around the world, Muqtada as-Sadr said, “God willing, whenever the tyranny's blows increase in frequency, our own courage and strength increase too.”
