From all of us at the Institute for Historical Review, best wishes for a successful and prosperous new year!
We've received so many cordial Christmas and New Year's messages in recent weeks that it's not been possible to respond to them all. So please excuse this somewhat impersonal way of expressing our appreciation.
This is a time of special challenge. With key revisionist scholars and activists behind bars as “prisoners of conscience,” our responsibility is greater than ever.
We remember friends who are in jail because they violated the disgraceful “Holocaust denial” laws in several European countries that criminalize any public challenge of Holocaust dogma.
Ernst Zundel, a courageous friend of the IHR, has been locked up for nearly three years now -- without ever having been convicted of any crime! He was held for more than two years in solitary confinement in Canada on the absurd pretext that he is a threat to "national security." After deportation to Germany in March, he was promptly charged with "Holocaust denial." His trial in Mannheim began on November 8 with a dramatic clash between his attorneys and the presiding judge. Proceedings are set to resume on February 6. If convicted, he faces many years in prison.
David Irving, the British historian who has addressed a number of IHR meetings and conferences, was arrested in Austria on November 11 for a 16-year-old violation of that country’s “Holocaust denial” statute. He is being held in jail until his trial, now set to begin in Vienna on February 20. He could also be sentenced to years of imprisonment.
Germar Rudolf, another dissident who has addressed IHR meetings, was deported in November from Chicago to his German homeland, where he likewise faces years in prison for “denying the Holocaust.”
The list of those who have been fined, imprisoned or forced into exile for having expressed skepticism about the official Holocaust story is a long one, and includes Robert Faurisson and Roger Garaudy in France, Siegfried Verbeke in Belgium, Juergen Graf and Gaston-Armand Amaudruz in Switzerland, and Guenter Deckert, Hans Schmidt and Fredrick Toben in Germany.
But along with these outrageous developments, this is also a time of great opportunity.
We are encouraged that around the world, and across the United States, ever more people see through official deceit and lies.
Awareness of the deception, injustice and dangers of Jewish-Zionist power is growing everywhere. And in this global struggle for truth and freedom, we are proud to be on the front line.
It is only thanks to the generous and loyal support of our friends and supporters that we can look back on a productive year.
We’ve kept up a vigorous schedule of media work, including many radio and television interviews that routinely reach hundreds of thousands of new listeners and viewers on regular and short wave stations in the US and over-seas, as well as through the internet.
Viewership of our website -- www.ihr.org <http://www.ihr.org> -- has remained strong. It now receives nearly two and a half million ﾒhitsﾓ per month, or about 80,000 a day.
Each day articles and reviews posted on the IHR website are read by many more people than ever saw them in their original, printed form, such as in the IHR’s Journal of Historical Review.
Through the internet, IHR items are routinely distributed -- not only by us, but by many others as well -- to countless thousands around the world, or are posted on various websites, including in foreign languages. For example, the text of my recent address in New York, and our probing new report <http://www.ihr.org/other/swcpower.html> on the Wiesenthal Center, were quickly distributed to numerous e-mail lists, or were posted on websites around the world.
Twice this past year we took our message to the streets. In February we rallied at the Canadian consulate in Los Angeles to protest the outrageous internment of Ernst Zundel. And in July we demonstrated at the Simon Wiesenthal Center to focus attention on its record of lies in support of war, Zionist oppression and Jewish supremacism, and to protest the giveaway of millions of dollars in taxpayer funds to this bastion of Jewish-Zionist power.
Our “IHR News & Comment” e-mail service continues to grow, attract-ing ever more subscribers who appreciate our useful roundups of news, analysis and commentary. (To subscribe to this free service, drop a line to news@ihr.org)
As part of our regular work of promoting and shipping out educational materials, we routinely distrib-ute large quantities of books, DVDs, CDs, leaflets, and other items -- a record unmatched by any similar center or association.

Right now we urgently need help in getting two new items:
We need a new mailing and data base software program. This new program -- which will cost about $300 -- will enable us to much more effectively target and focus our mass mailings.
We also need a color printer that will enable us to produce DVD and CD covers and other items “in house,” saving us the expense of costly short run “outside” color printing work. We expect that we’ll recover the cost of this printer -- about $2,500 -- in six months.
