NEW YORK - The looming termination of New Tang Dynastyﾕs (NTDTV) broadcasts into east Asia has been postponed until June 6, as negotiations continue with Eutelsat.

NTDTV had a one-year agreement to use Eutelsatﾕs satellite, but Eutelsat has ﾒbeen under tremendous political and economic pressure from the Chinese communist government,ﾓ according to a statement on NTDTVﾕs website.

As the only broadcaster of uncensored Chinese-language programs inside China, NTDTV has itself come up against the tactics of the CCP.

Speaking up for freedom of speech and NTDTVﾕs right to continue broadcasting have been numerous members of parliament in Europe and Canada, and Congress in the U.S.

Eutelsat, a French company, derives much of its business from U.S. government transmissions. The statement from NTDTV invites viewers and supporters to contact their elected representatives so that they can weigh in with Eutelsat.

Independent organizations such as the International Federation of Journalists, Reporters Without Borders, and Accuracy in Media have issued statements in support of NTDTV.
