Hit.
Resistance pounds US al-Baghdadi base Monday.
Iraqi Resistance forces fired five Grad rockets into the US base in the city of al-Baghdadi, west of Hit. The American invaders have occupied a former Iraqi infantry training facility there and turned it into their local headquarters. Monday’s Resistance bombardment left fires blazing inside the camp and started a series of explosions as American munitions began to go off.
A member of the Iraqi puppet police told Mafkarat al-Islam that the attack left a number of US troops dead and wounded.
The Iraqi Resistance organization the Army of the Partisans of the Sunnah Prophet’s practice took credit for the attack in a communiqu a copy of which was received by Mafkarat al-Islam.
“God enabled your heroic Mujahideen brothers in Hit yesterday to strike the American forces in the al-Baghdadi base west of Hit with five Grad rockets. The rockets hit their targets with precision and, God be praised, set a massive fire blazing on the base. We have not been able to learn how many perished in the ranks of the enemy,” said the communiqu that was signed, “Information Section, Army of the Partisans of the Sunnah.”

Iraqi Resistance forces on Tuesday for the first time fired an Iraqi-made rocket in battle, striking occupied Saddam International Airport with five as-Sijjil missiles, constructed just weeks ago.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi Resistance as saying, “today we fired the first five as-Sijjil rockets that were made by the hands of the Iraqi Resistance. They were inaugurated in an attack on Baghdad International Airport and produced amazing results that we had not expected.”
The Resistance source reported: “they set fires blazing and destroyed buildings occupied by the Americans inside the airport.” He said their precision was excellent, giving them another winning card that they can play in their military operations against the occupation throughout Iraq.

Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the blast killed nine members of the collaborationist party and wounded 13 more, among them the General Secretary of the so-called “Iraqi Communist Party,” who has cooperated with the American CIA since the early 1990s.
The Iraqi puppet police confirmed that the attack had been a martyrdom operation with its target being a gathering of “Iraqi Communist Party” members.
Puppet general abducted by Resistance in Baghdad.
Sources in the Iraqi puppet police announced Tuesday that Resistance forces had abducted a high-ranking officer in the Iraq puppet army in Baghdad. Reuters reported that Resistance fighters pulled Brigadier General Jalal Muhammad Salih from his car and led him to an unknown destination.
Salih is the commander of a special armored division, one of the first armored divisions to be established by the Americans in their puppet “Iraqi army.” The Iraqi puppet police reported that his car was stopped after he left his home in the al-Mansur district of Baghdad. The general and his aides were taken away without a shot being fired.
Afternoon Resistance attack leaves four Badr Brigade gunmen dead.
Four members of the Badr Brigades, the armed wing of the Shi‘i chauvinist collaborationist so-called “Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq” (SCIRI) were killed when Iraqi Resistance forces attacked them in Baghdad Tuesday afternoon.
Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that Iraqi Resistance fighters in the Madinat ath-Thawrah district of Baghdad (nicknamed “Madinat as-Sadr”) attacked a white Landcruiser carrying Badr Brigade gunmen at 4pm Tuesday afternoon. Resistance bullets struck the gasoline tank of the car, setting it ablaze and destroying it completely. Four of the Badr Brigade gunmen were killed as well, the witnesses said. A source in the Iraqi puppet police in the area confirmed that the dead were members of the collaborationist organization.
More than 1 million Iraqi refugees now living in Syria, Jordan.
The London-based Arabic-language newspaper al-Quds al-‘Arabi reported on Tuesday, 5 April 2005 that informed sources working with refugees for the United Nations say that a large number of Iraqi refugees continue to pour across the border into Syria every month.
The UN and Syrian officials estimate the number of refugees who have arrived in Syria since the US occupation of Iraq to be about 700,000. That number must be added to the 100,000 Iraqi refugees who were living in Syria before the American invasion.
Officials fear that this emigration will have a serious impact on efforts to rebuild and reconstruct Iraq, since many of these refugees are technical experts, well-to-do professionals who decided to leave their country because of the occupation, instability, and rampant criminal activity there since the US took over. Some neighborhoods in Damascus reportedly now look like places in Baghdad.
Though many of the refugees arrive with funds, the lack of job opportunities in the host country means that they live off their savings until those are exhausted, presenting the country and international agencies with a quietly growing crisis.
In addition to Syria, the other main destination for Iraqi refugees is Jordan. UN officials in that country estimate the number of new Iraqi refugees who have poured into that country as 300,000. Al-Quds al-‘Arabi reports that Jordan is “full of Iraqis” ミ from tribal leaders and wealthy people living in exclusive neighborhoods down to taxi drivers.
Ninwa Province.
Tall ‘Afar.
US invader troops desecrate Martyrs’ Cemetery in Tall ‘Afar.
US occupation troops on Tuesday morning stormed the Cemetery of Martyrs of the Iraqi Resistance in the city of Tall ‘Afar, west of Mosul and dug up martyrs’ graves in a desecration operation that lasted for three hours.
Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the US occupation troops surrounded the cemetery with more than 10 vehicles. Then their soldiers, carrying picks and other digging implements raided the cemetery and dug up 14 graves of Iraqi Resistance fighters. A member of the Iraqi puppet military ミ who were near the Americans but did not take part in desecrating the cemetery ミ said that the Americans found all the bodies they dug up to look freshly buried, with their hair and beards still in place even though they had been killed in the first Tall ‘Afar battle.
The source said that the reason for this intentional desecration of the cemetery was not known, but said that the Americans took samples from the dead and took photographs of them, which he speculated had something to do with the continued incarceration of their wives and children, even though these men had died three full months ago.
US forces frequently raid homes and arrest family members of suspected Resistance fighters. The invaders then hold those women and children hostage in the hopes that the wanted man will surrender himself to the occupation authorities in an effort to set them free. If the man falls in battle, however, captive family members might be locked up indefinitely unless the remains of their relative happen to be found and identified.

Two members of the Resistance were martyred, he added.
The correspondent reported residents of the neighborhood who witnessed the attack as saying that more than 15 people attacked the American patrol after asking local people to stay indoors. The Resistance called on the locals to remain in their houses out of fear that the American troops would open fire on the civilians as they regularly do whenever there are fights with the Resistance, hoping to arouse popular resentment against the Resistance fighters.

One witness told Mafkarat al-Islam that one of the Resistance attackers was martyred in the assault and another slightly wounded. Prisoners rebel, kill four US guards in Camp Bucca prison camp Monday night.

An officer in the Iraqi puppet army told Mafkarat al-Islam that a large number of prisoners, armed only with their fists and sharp objects like knives, attacked US soldiers and killed four American troops and wounded five more, one of those mortally.
The source added that the fighting erupted after one of the prisoners cursed one of the American soldiers during the evening meal. The Americans took that prisoner out and attempted to torture him on the field in front of the rest of the inmates. Then the prisoners, armed with knives and razor blades, attacked the four American troops who were tying up the prisoner in the middle of the field. They stabbed those four to death and wounded five more. The prisoners also set fire to one of the Americans’ tents.
The source said that 16 prisoners were wounded, one of them seriously, when US troops opened fire indiscriminately on them.
For its part, the American military admitted that fighting took place in Camp Bucca but disclosed no details regarding their losses.
Later on Tuesday, the International Red Cross demanded that the US military in Iraq investigate “disturbances” that have occurred recently in Camp Bucca. Sky News reported that the movement of Muqtada as-Sadr first reported disturbances on Friday that the Red Cross, whose team was visiting the prison camp at the time, later confirmed. That fighting broke out after prisoners reportedly protested the transfer of “troublesome” inmates to another complex. Fourteen inmates were reportedly injured in that uprsing, when US troops fired rubber bullets at them.
Rana Sidani, a spokesman for the International Red Cross, said that prisoners in the prison camp suffer from bad conditions, living in tents on the desert floor inside the camp with nothing to protect them from the heat of the sun during the day and the intense cold at night.
