Al-Anbar Province.
Al-Fallujah.
Thirteen US troops killed in Resistance barrage on American barracks in al-Fallujah.
Iraqi Resistance forces fired a barrage of rockets at the northern US barracks in the city of al-Fallujah at about 8am Saturday morning. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported sources in the Iraqi puppet army as saying that 13 US troops were killed in the attack.
An officer in the puppet military said that four surface-to-surface rockets blasted into the northern US military barracks that occupy the al-Fallujah train station, totally destroying a reception hall and setting a US cargo train ablaze. Thirteen American soldiers wre killed. Their bodies were taken by helicopter to the US base set up in the agricultural area east of the city.
The source added that the Resistance launched the missile attack from the residential area in the north of the city. US helicopters immediately flew over the area to locate the exact source of the barrage but they found nothing, he said.
For his part an Iraqi packing worker who is employed by the US occupation forces confirmed that 13 American troops were killed when three rockets, out of a total of four that the Resistance fired, struck the reception hall in the barracks. The fourth rocket hit a US supply train that was parked at the station.
Al-Hadithah.
Iraqi Resistance storms puppet police station near al-Hadithah Saturday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 4pm Saturday afternoon Mecca time, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before Iraqi Resistance fighters had attacked the Barwanah puppet police station in al-Hadithah. The Resistance fighters seized control of the police station and took members of the puppet police prisoner. They also took possession of the light and medium weapons and rocket launchers in the police station and then totally blew up the building.
The correspondent for Mafakarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that more than 40 Resistance fighters had taken part in the attack on the police station in Barawinah that is administratively under al-Hadithah. They said that after a short battle in which four puppet policemen were killed, they took over the station. They captured the chief of police and several officers who were there at the time and liberated the Resistance fighters in the police station jail. They left the criminal prisoners, incarcerated for theft, kidnapping, and extortion in their cells, however
The correspondent reported that the Resistance led the police chief and the other captive puppet police officers away. They left the station for an unknown destination.
US forces surrounded the puppet police station after the attack and began an investigation into the attack.
Battle rages in al-Hadithah late Friday afternoon.
Fierce fighting broke out in al-Hadithah at 5pm Friday afternoon between Iraqi Resistance forces and a detachment of US Marines known as the “dirty division” ミ which arrived in the city four days before according to a US military announcement to attempt to put an end to the Iraqi Resistance in the area.
The battle left 10 US troops dead and another six wounded. Four Iraqi Resistance fighters were martyred and two more ミ one of them a fraternal Arab volunteer ミ wounded.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Hadithah, 460km west of Baghdad on the Euphrates River reported eyewitnesses as saying that the fighting erupted in the middle of the city when advance units of the US military entered al-Hadithah. This prompted the Resistance to use loudspeakers on mosques to insist that local residents go home and pray and make supplications to God.
The first spark of the fighting took place when Resistance forces surprised the American Marines in the ash-Shurtah neighborhood in the western part of the city, and fired a rocket into one of their Humvees, completely destroying the vehicle and killing three US troops aboard. The “dirty division” Marines then opened fire on the source of the rocket fire.
The two sides engaged in combat for about 15 minutes, then the battle zone extended to the center of town as Resistance units tried to draw the Americans into the side streets and narrow lanes where the US vehicles could not pursue. Extremely heavy fighting raged there fore more than an hour until US helicopters came in to join in the fight, whereupon the Resistance fighters withdrew.
The correspondent reported an Iraqi Resistance source as saying that the battles on Friday left 10 American troops dead and six more wounded, most of them mortally. He said, “just so that they know that we’re not afraid of their names, like the ‘dirty division’ we today presented them with 16 of their soldiers dead or wounded.”
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent also spoke to a lieutenant colonel in the Iraqi puppet army who confirmed that 10 US troops had been killed and said that eight others had been wounded, not six, and that four US vehicles had been totally destroyed.
US occupation forces withdrew from al-Hadithah after the fighting was over and their dead and wounded had been evacuated by helicopter.
Turaybil.
Resistance takes on task of ensuring security of roads through Iraq’s western desert.
The Iraqi puppet regime closed Iraq’s borders with Jordan and Syria for a period of four days beginning last Wednesday, 30 March 2005. A source in the puppet customs service in a post on the Jordanian frontier told Mafkarat al-Islam, “government directives were issued to us telling us to prevent the exit or entry of any travelers through the border crossings leading to Jordan and Syria. The directives gave no reasons for the order.”
The source added, “there is a huge traffic jam at the Turaybil crossing now because travelers are arriving only to be surprised that an order that they weren’t aware of had been issued closing the borders.” The source said that US forces were concentrated at the present time around the Turaybil crossing point on the way to Jordan, and it is they who are carrying out the order to prevent travelers from going across.
The land routes between Baghdad and Amman and Damascus have been largely secure during the last three months, the Jordanian newspaper al-‘Arab al-Yawm reported Saturday. No incidents of murder or robbery such as had been frequent under the US occupation before that when robbers, thieves, criminal elements preyed on traffic, were reported during the three-month period.
Travelers told the Amman newspaper al-‘Arab al-Yawm that the reason for the three months of security was that the Iraqi Resistance had taken on the task of ensuring security on the land routes through the western desert of Iraq ミ a distance of 600km between Baghdad and the neighboring frontiers.
The owner of a large restaurant on the road reported that three months ago, Resistance fighters killed 15 thieves and criminals who had been committing murder and robbery for a long time, masquerading as Mujahideen. The restauranteur said that the murders and other criminal actions of those bandits had badly damaged the reputation of the real Resistance fighters.
Ar-Ramadi.
Resistance bomb kills four US troops in ar-Ramadi Friday.
An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column in the al-Mal‘ab neighborhood east of ar-Ramadi, 110km west of Baghdad, on Friday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in ar-Ramadi reported a source in the city puppet police as saying that the bomb, which was planted by the side of a road in the al-Mal‘ab neighborhood, destroyed one Humvee and killed four US troops and one Iraqi collaborator translator who was with them.
The correspondent noted that the blast left a deep crater nearly two meters in diameter in the road. US forces then encircled the area and hauled away the wrecked vehicle using a giant crane.
Resistance truck bomb strikes US barracks Friday afternoon, killing nine US troops.
An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove a Hino truck loaded with gravel into a US military barracks west of ar-Ramadi at about 3pm Friday afternoon. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the city reported a source in the Iraqi puppet army as saying that the attack targeted a headquarters that the US occupation forces set up in a former vegtable oil factory, and that the blast upon impact left nine American soldiers dead and 15 more wounded, in degrees of severity from moderate to serious.
Witnesses told the correspondent that the truck entered the US facility loaded with gravel since the Americans were working on repair and reconstruction inside their camp. The witnesses said they saw the truck as it slowly approached the main gate. Then as soon as it got inside, the driver accelerated as American troops began to open fire on him. When he was in the middle of the camp among US personnel he detonated the vehicle, killing and wounding a large number of occupation troops.
The correspondent reported that six helicopters were called in to evacuate the dead and wounded American personnel.
The US military, for its part, broadcast a statement on the radio run by the US military in the city in which it acknowledged only that six of its troops had been killed and made no mention of anyone being wounded in the attack at all.
Baghdad.
Resistance launches large-scale assault on Abu Ghurayb prison camp at sunset on Saturday.
US military propaganda mouthpieces admitted Saturday that they fought a four-hour battle near the Abu Ghurayb prison camp west of Bahgdad. The US military said that dozens of Resistance fighters attacked the prison camp on Saturday, detonating two car bombs and then firing rockets at US forces who were surprised by the attack and were unable to respond until after a period of time.
Reuters quoted a US military officer as saying that at least 20 American soldiers were wounded in the attack and at least 12 prisoners in the camp were also wounded, some of them severely.
Lieutenant Colonel Guy Rudisill a so-called ‘spokesman for detainee affairs’ told Reuters that a group of between 40 and 60 Resistance fighters attacked the US prison camp, noting that the attack began at about 6pm local time Saturday evening.
Rudisill said that two Resistance martyrdom fighters blew up car bombs and then the Resistance fighters fired rocket-propelled grenades at the camp in what was a persistent attack. Rudisill said that the US troops responded with heavy weapons. He said that the situation was put “under control” of US forces at about 10pm, i.e., after four hours of fierce fighting in the area.
Rudisill said that the fighting was intermittent, however. He said that the Resistance would fire rockets and then hold their fire for a while and then resume firing again a bit later. Rudisill said, however, that at that time he spoke “the situation is under control.”
Witnesses reported that the second Resistance car bomb blew up among US forces as they were trying to extract the wounded from the blast site around the first martyrdom car bomb attack. Rudisill said US troops had sealed the prison grounds and claimed that it was not believed that any Resistance fighters had managed to penetrate the prison camp’s perimeter.
Resistance bomb leaves four US troops dead Saturday morning.
An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US armored column in Abu Ghurayb west of Baghdad at 10am Saturday morning. The blast completely destroyed one US armored vehicle, killing four Americans and wounding three more.
The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in the area reported owners of gardens in the al-Bu Munaysir village in western Abu Ghurayb as saying that the bomb was planted in the middle of an unpaved road and that it blew up under one of the American vehicles, inflicting the above-mentioned damage and casualties.
US-backed Badr Brigades murder family of man who embraced Sunni Islam.
Collaborator Badr Brigade gunmen murdered an entire Sunni family in Baghdad’s al-Baladiyat area of the Second ar-Rusafah district at about 7am Saturday morning. More than seven gunmen, their faces covered, attacked the house and killed all the nine members of the family, including four children and an elderly woman.
The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that all the dead, including the children, were apparently sleeping at the time of the attack, since they were found dead in their beds.
Neighbors of the family said that they heard the sound of gunfire and calls for help from the owner of the house, but they were not able to save him because they feared they would only meet the same fate.
The correspondent reported the brother of the house owner as saying that his brother’s family “had declared several weeks earlier that they had become Salafi Sunnis and had thrown into the garbage barrel in front of his house the piece of earth used by Shi‘i Muslims to pray upon.
“We told him not to make his choice so public, but he was convinced about what he was doing and was determined to continue his attack on Shi‘i rites. This prompted the Badr Brigades to threaten him three times by sticking papers on the door of his house. But he didn’t stop, so on the third occasion they threatened to kill him.
The brother added, “My brother took their threats seriously and decided to sell his house and leave the neighborhood entirely, but as soon as the Badr members heard of his intention to leave they attacked him and his family, killing all of them.”
The Iraqi puppet police denied that the Badr Brigades, the armed wing of the Shi‘i chauvinist collaborator organization the so-called “Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq” (SCIRI), was involved in the murder, according to a statement made by a puppet police investigator to Mafkarat al-Islam Saturday morning. Nevertheless, the brother continued to insist on the involvement in the Badr Brigades in the killing.
Resistance attacks Badr Brigade headquarters, killing 23 gunmen.
In a dispatch posted at 1pm Saturday, Mecca time, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a headquarters of the Badr Brigades in the al-Habibiyah area of eastern Baghdad with rockets and machine guns. This was a first response to the murder of a Sunni family by Badr Brigade gunmen in Baghdad early Saturday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported.
The attack left 23 members of the collaborationist Badr Brigades dead, including the commander of the organization in the eastern part of Baghdad, Ghafil al-Husayni.
The correspondent reported witnesses as saying that all those in the Badr headquarters at the time were killed and what was inside was taken. Members of the Iraqi puppet police confirmed the report to Mafkarat al-Islam, accusing what they called “Wahhabis” of the attack but not linking it to the murder of the family earlier in the morning.
Iraqi house owner kills Jew trying to take over his home in Baghdad Saturday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 2pm Saturday afternoon, Mecca time, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a Jew of Iraqi origin was killed by an Iraqi citizen in the ash-Sha‘b neighborhood in eastern Baghdad at about 2pm Baghdad time Saturday afternoon.
The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported a son of the Iraqi citizen as saying that a man of Iraqi origin of the Jewish religion came to Iraq “to take back” what he claimed was his house, that an earlier Iraqi regime had confiscated after the 1948 seizure of Palestine by Jewish Zionist invaders. The house was transferred to an Iraqi, as was the case with all the other houses formerly owned by Jews who left Iraq to emigrate to the Jewish colonial entity in occupied Palestine.
The son of the current householder went on to say “the Jew, together with three others, knocked on the door of our home and demanded from me that we leave the house, claiming that he owned it and had legal ownership documents to prove it. He started to attack my father, who is 56 years old, forcing my father to fight him. He threatened my father with the police and the Americans if he did not vacate the house, and that drove my father to shoot him dead on the doorstep. Then the other two ran away from our house.”
The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Iraqi puppet police surrounded the area and arrested the owner of the house. They led him away to the puppet police station. Local residents, for their part took the side of the house owner and formed a delegation from the district to go to the police station to demand his release.
Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ denies press claims that it issued an opinion permitting Iraqis to join puppet police.
The Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ Scholars of Iraq issued a statement on Saturday denying claims that the Board had issued a legal opinion (fatwa) allowing Muslims to join he puppet police and puppet “Iraqi army” organizations formed and run by the US invaders on Iraqi soil. In its statement, the Board stated that any such claims were untrue.
In its statement, a copy of which was obtained by Mafkarat al-Islam, the Board said: “some media carried a report today that a fatwa had been issued by the Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ ミ or that it took part in issuing such a fatwa ミ that permits Iraqis to join the ranks of the Iraqi army and police. Denying that it had anything to do with this fatwa, the Board reaffirms that its position on this matter is well known and has been announced a long time ago.”
The Board, which represents the highest Sunni Muslim religious authority in the country stated once again that “official positions of the Board can only be taken from the General Secretary of the Board, from its official spokesman, and from the information department of the Board. The pulpit of the Umm al-Qura Mosque is not an official source for opinions from the Board.”
Shaykh Ahmad ‘Abd al-Ghafur as-Samarra’i , the imam and preacher in the Umm al-Qura Mosque, declared in his Friday sermon that a number of Sunni ‘Ulama’ had issued a fatwa calling on the Iraqi people to join the ranks of the police and army to guarantee the unity and sovereignty of Iraq and civil law. The call was predicated on a number of conditions, the most important of which that the person joining those forces have the pure intention of serving God alone, and that he zealously serve his faith, country, and people, and not be a helper of the occupation. Shaykh as-Samarra’i said that sixty preachers, ‘ulama’, and professors signed the fatwa, including Shaykh Ahmad Hasan at-Taha, Shaykh Ibrahim an-Ni‘mah, Shaykh Subhi as-Samarra’i and Shaykh Makki al-Kubaysi.
The statement issued by the Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ in Iraq said that “the Board wishes to note that it will make clear its position in detail on this fatwa in the near future.”

The correspondent met a member of the Iraqi Resistance who was among those who stormed into the Polish camp. He confirmed the losses among the Poles were more than 19 killed and others wounded.
