Al-Anbar Province.
Al-Fallujah.
Resistance mounts fierce bombardment of US camp east of al-Fallujah Wednesday evening.
In a dispatch posted at 6:45pm Mecca time Wednesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces were, at the time of reporting, fiercely bombarding the US base east of al-Fallujah with rockets and heavy mortars, targeting various parts of the American-occupied facility.
The correspondent reported that the bombardment was most intensely forcusd on the western parts of the base, in particular, however, and the sound of explosions could be heard as they rocked the camp.
Sirens could be heard wailing inside the camp as US helicopters flew about in the area around the base at very high altitude. US Marines were firing their artillery at what they thought was the source of the Resistance fire to the south of al-Fallujah.
Resistance rocket, mortar bombardments of US bases in al-Fallujah mark escalation of the fighting there once again.
In a dispatch posted at 11:55pm Mecca time Wednesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US bases inside and outside al-Fallujah came under intense rocket bombardments on Tuesday and Wednesday, as the Iraqi Resistance in the city accelerates once again.
The correspondent in al-Fallujah reported that on Tuesday the Resistance fired more than 35 rockets of various types, including Grad and Katyusha, as well as mortar rounds. On Wednesday the Reistance fired three Grad rockets at about 9:30pm. That attack was followed by a launch of two more Grad rockets at about 10:05pm local time.
The Wednesday night attacks targeted US bases inside and outside the city, in particular in the agricultural area northeast of the city. The barrages compelled US troops to move into areas where some local families live to hide, using local civilians as human shields.
Some al-Fallujah families on Wednesday left the city as they see that all the signs point to a new outbreak of fighting between the Resistance and American occupation troops following the killing on Tuesday of the American deputy commander for military operations in al-Fallujah.
Al-Katifah.
Resistance bomb kills four US troops near Saudi border.
Four US troops were killed when an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by their patrol on Wednesday in the Abu Katifah area of al-Anbar Province near the border with Saudi Arabia at 1pm Wednesday afternoon local time.
The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in the border area reported that the Resistance planted a bomb in the middle of the road leading to the ‘Ar‘ar border complex. The bomb exploded under a US patrol made up of several Humvees, destroying one Humvee and killing four US troops instantly.
The correspondent reported that the US forces encircled the area after the attack and arrested a large number of shepherds and Bedouin in the area. Those whom they did not arrest they expelled from the area, after tearing up and destroying their tents as a form of punishment.
Baghdad.
One in three Iraqi youths in southern Iraq is a drug addict, thanks to flow of narcotics from Iran, puppet health official says.
The US-installed puppet General Director for Health in the Southern Regions of Iraq disclosed statistics of the puppet so-called “Iraqi ministry of health” for the year 2005 that show that genuine catastrophes pose an immediate threat to Iraqi civil society, greater in their impact that the occupation itself, according to the puppet agency’s statement. Obviously it is the occupation that is responsible for the disastrous situation in Iraq, however, permitting the drug trafficking and other forms of social decay in the hopes that will facilitate their control over the country.
The puppet General Director for Health in the South told Mafkarat al-Islam that the statistics show that of every 10 youths between the ages of 18 and 30 year, three of them are addicted to Iranian drugs brought in from Iran, and which are regarded as the most serious type of drugs since they work to destroy the nervous system completely within a period of months.
The official said “we have recorded numerous cases of deaths as a result of those drugs that have been brought into Iraq, and continue to come in every day in full view of both the US forces and their Iraqi puppet troops.”
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Health Department for the western regions of Iraq, which include al-Anbar Province, Abu Ghurayb, another areas of Baghdad near the border of al-Anbar Province registered zero percent drug usage. The same was true for Mosul, Salah ad-Din Province, Diyala Province, at-Ta’mim Province, and the predominantly Sunni parts of Baghdad (which constitute 40 percent of the Iraqi capital according to statistics of the puppet so-called “ministry of trade.”)
In much of southern Iraq Shi‘i chauvinist collaborationist Badr Brigade and Da‘wah Party gunmen ミ who have close ties with Iran and trained in Iran before they joined in the American invasion of Iraq ミ have been integrated as local puppet “military” and police forces as a part of the occupation regime. Their heavy presence in those regions no doubt facilitates the cross-border drug trade from Iran in the southern, predominantly Shi‘i parts of Iraq.
Resistance car bomb kills seven US troops in Abu Ghurayb area early Wednesday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 2:34pm Mecca time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden pickup into a US patrol in the as-Samilat area north of Abu Ghurayb a short while earlier. Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the pickup drove into the US patrol when it was on a dirt road in the village, destroying a Bradley armored vehicle and killing seven American troops instantly.
A member of the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guard” confirmed the attack and the death of seven US troops. He also said that Iraqi peasants had been injured as well.
At the time the correspondent filed his report, US troops were encircling the scene of the attack, prohibiting journalists from taking pictures of the dead bodies or the wrecked vehicle.
Resistance group: three US troops killed in bombing in at-Taji.
The Islamic Army in Iraq Resistance organization announced that it had detonated a bomb under a US patrol in the area of at-Taji, north of Baghdad. Al-Jazeera satellite TV carried a film clip of the Resistance attack as posted on an Islamic website on the Internet. Al-Jazeera reported that the Islamic Army said that three US troops in that patrol were killed and two more wounded. The tape shows the moment at which the bomb exploded by a group of US foot soldiers as they cross a major street in search of bombs.
Salah ad-Din Province.
Balad.
Resistance wipes out US column near Balad Wednesday morning.
Iraqi Resistance forces attacked and wiped out a US column in the area of Balad, northwest of Tikrit, at about 8:30am Wednesday morning. Witnesses told Mafakrat al-Islam that a column of seven US vehicles was totally wiped out, leaving more than 38 bodies of US troops strewn about the middle of the street near the former Military Training School.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in Balad met with Captain Jawad Nayif of the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guard” who acknowledged the attack, saying that a US column made up of seven various vehicles was ambushed in a pre-planned attack. A Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden car into the American column and blew up. That totally destroyed two Humvees.
Then Resistance fighters waited for the American troops to get out of their vehicles to pull the dead and wounded from the vehicles. Then the Resistance fighters, concealed in empty houses that used to serve as housing and barracks for Iraqi military personnel, opened fire with rocket launchers and shoulder-fired missiles. The Resistance attack killed all the Americans and all their vehicles were completely destroyed, though the fighters seized all the weapons and ammunition that were in them.
Local witnesses refuted the story told by the puppet captain in part, saying that the Resistance fighters did not take cover in the abandoned Iraqi army housing at all, but fought the Americans face to face. Their attack was so sudden, the witnesses said, that it didn’t give the Americans time to flip the safety catches on their weapons off.
The witnesses said that they saw three of the Americans blindfolded and driven away by the Resistance to an unknown destination after the battle.
Meanwhile, the General Command of the Iraqi Resistance, in a statement to Mafkarat al-Islam by one of the Resistance commanders, said that the battle resulted in the martyrdom of eight Resistance fighters and the wounding of five more, two of them seriously. He said that the American column ミ both the soldiers and their vehicles - were completely wiped out by the Resistance.
After the ambush, US forces completely encircled the city and prevented anyone from entering or leaving. Even university and college students were prevented from leaving the city until the Americans had finished hauling away their wrecked vehicles and their dead troops from the area.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam noted that in addition starting at 9:30am the Americans completely encircled the towns of al-Bu Hishmah and al-‘Alam, as well as the areas and roads leading to the center of the province to prevent the spread of news and information about the successful Resistance attack. A source in the Resistance told Mafakrat al-Islam, however, that one Resistance fighter was able to film the attack on the US column.
Bayji.
Resistance bombards US base west of Bayji early Wednesday.
Iraqi Resistance forces fired a barrage of medium-range Katyusha rockets into the US base west of Bayji at about 7am Wednesday morning. Witnesses who live in the neighboring as-Siniyah area told Mafkarat al-Islam that they heard six powerful explosions shake the American-occupied facility, followed by secondary explosions whose source they did not know ミ but which probably were the result of US munitions going off.
Ath-Tharthar.
Resistance organization denounces lies of US military. “Ath-Tharthar is a completely liberated area.”
The Iraqi Resistance in the ath-Tharthar area, 35km west of Samarra’, issued a statement challenging US forces to prove their propaganda claims in the media of having killed more than 80 Iraqi Resistance fighters in the Battle of ath-Tharthar last week.
The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in the city, who obtained a copy of the statement, reported the Resistance as calling on Arab and foreign journalists, particularly, to come to the ath-Tharthar area and see the facts that the US military are working so hard to conceal. The facts are, the statement said, that ath-Tharthar is a totally liberated area that has been freed from the clutches of the occupation. There is not one US soldier within the administrative boundaries of the city, the statement said.
The statement, issued in the name of the Squadrons of the Mujahideen, called on journalists and honorable people to come and see how false are the American claims, which, if they prove anything, just prove how desperate the US is to resort once again to outright lies and falsification as they did in the Battle of al-Fallujah, (when they claimed to have occupied the whole city, something that did not take place for nearly two months after they issued their claim and then only because the Resistance voluntarily withdrew to fight in more favorable conditions ミ note by translator.)
The Resistance statement said that the battle took place because US forces and their Iraqi puppets violated the boundaries of the city of ath-Tharthar to a distance of one kilometer. Resistance forces therefore set out to repulse them. A battle ensued that lasted two hours, in the course of which three US helicopters were shot down and more than 17 American vehicles destroyed. This forced the Americans to pick up their dead and flee from the area.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that four foreign journalists did indeed enter the city after the Resistance made a pledge to protect them and not allow them to be attacked in return for their refutation of the claims of the Americans. The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam received the same offer from the Resistance.
Ath-Tharthar is an area located west of Samarra’ and north of al-Fallujah and is regarded as a completely liberated area. The occupation troops have been unable to invade it since the end of the Battle of al-Fallujah. The terrain in ath-Tharthar is very rough and difficult, full of hills, small mountains, water valleys ミ all of which augments the power of the Resistance to repulse any attacks on the area. There is also a school for Resistance fighters operating in the ath-Tharthar area.
After the Resistance statement was issued, US forces for their part denied ever having claimed that 80 Resistance fighters had been killed in ath-Tharthar, claiming that it had not fought carried out any operation in the area at all. General George Casey a few days ago, however, made such an announcement at a press conference in the Palace of Congresses (Convention Center) in Baghdad, saying, “we wiped out more than 80 gunmen.”
Tikrit.
Resistance motorcycle bomber kills five US troops in Tikrit Wednesday afternoon.
An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter driving an explosives-laden motorcycle blasted into a US military column in the middle of Tikrit Wednesday afternoon. A member of the puppet so-called “Iraqi rapid deployment force” told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance martyrdom fighter drove a motorcycle into a US column that was stopped on 40 Street in downtown Tikrit and blew himself and the motorcycle up. The blast destroyed one Humvee and killed five US troops immediately.
Witnesses confirmed to Mafkarat al-Islam that the martyrdom fighter drove into the column on a booby-trapped motorcycle and blew up, killing five US troops and destroying a vehicle that was set ablaze.
Diyala Province.
Ba‘qubah.
Resistance rockets pound US base near Ba‘qubah Wednesday afternoon.
Iraqi Resistance forces bombarded the US base north of Ba‘qubah with rockets at 5pm local time. The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the barrage set a large fire burning in the eastern parts of the American-occupied camp that formerly was an Iraqi military headquarters.
An official source in the Iraqi puppet division known as “ING” told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance began bombarding the base with rockets on Wednesday afternoon, destroying a fuel station for the US forces inside the base. Also destroyed was a center for equipment maintenance on the base. He said, however, that the bombardment caused the Americans no casualties.
Witnesses, however, confirmed to Mafkarat al-Islam that three helicopters were seen in the area over the base right after the attack, evacuating a number of American casualties who had either died or been wounded in the bombardment.
Ninwa Province.
Mosul.
Resistance group reports recent attacks on US, Iraqi puppet troops in Mosul.
The Organization at-Tawhid wa-al-Jihad, said to be led by the Jordanian Abu Mus‘ab az-Zarqawi announced on Wednesday that in the last three days it had destroyed a number of US vehicles and killed numerous US and Iraqi puppet troops as well as one member of the Badr Brigade collaborator militia and one of the Kurdish chauvinist Peshmergan collaborators. The announcement came in a statement issued in Mosul and posted on doors of some local mosques. The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam obtained a copy of the statement.
The statement said that Resistance fighters in Mosul had used explosives to destroy one armored vehicle and two Humvees. The statement said that in fighting between the so-called “Iraqi national guard” and the Resistance in Mosul, three of the guard’s vehicles were destroyed, killing all aboard them. The statement said that this information and these statistics pertained to operations carried out by the at-Tawhid wa-al-Jihad organization only, and did not include losses inflicted on the Americans and their stooges by other Resistance groups in the area.
Al-Basrah Province.
Al-Basrah.
Resistance bomb destroys puppet police car in al-Basrah Tuesday night.
An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a a patrol car of the Iraqi puppet police as it passed along a road in the as-Saymar area of al-Basrah at about 10pm Tuesday night. The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that the car was destroyed and all aboard were wounded. The Resistance organization the al-Hasan al-Basri Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement distributed in the area.
Resistance bomb targets motorcade of Oil of the South Director Tuesday morning.
An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded under the motorcade of the Director of the Oil of the South Company, Hamid La‘ibi, in the ar-Risalah area of al-Basrah on Tuesday morning. The Oil of the South Company, like its double, the Oil of the North Company are parts of the oil structure used by the US occupation to drain the natural resources out of Iraq.
The correspondent for Mafakrat al-Islam in al-Basrah reported that the blast struck one of the puppet police cars charged with protecting La‘ibi. There was no word of casualties.
Tuesday’s attack was not the first strike by the Resistandce at the oil exploitation institutions in the occupied country. It was also not the first such attack in the ar-Risalah area. There have been numerous attacks on the oil facilities including oil export pipelines in al-Basrah, and the Resistance has also repeatedly targeted the American storage tanks that operate 24 hours every day and facitlitate the theft of Iraqi oil before the eyes and ears of everyone.
There have also been numerous Resistance attacks on the ar-Risalah area against the puppet police and the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guard” there, the latest one having left eight puppet guards dead.
The attack on the puppet oil official came at at time when the Sunni population of al-Basrah is in a state of marked tension after raids on several Sunni areas of the city in the course of which 15 persons were arrested. Though some of those were later released, many are still in custody.
