Al-Fallujah.
Fierce fighting in al-Fallujah.
In a dispatch posted at 12:45am local time Sunday (11:45pm Saturday night Mecca time), the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that fierce fighting broke out between the Resistance and US occupation troops on ath-Tharthar Street near the al-Wahdah neighborhood and also on ath-Tharthar Street in the al-Jawlan neighborhood area after Resistance forces provoked the US troops on the outskirts. The Resistance first attacked them and then clashed with them, then drew them towards the center of the city where they could engage them in guerrilla street fighting for the fifth straight day.
Resistance forces encircled a US column in the al-Wahdah neighborhood, cutting them off from the al-Muhandisin neighborhood and the al-Hadrah Mosque to the north and from ar-Ramadi Street to the south. Other US troops tried to reach them more than once from the north but were unable to get through.
Resistance unleashes barrage of 45 Grad rockets on US forces outside al-Fallujah.
In a dispatch posted at 12:45am Sunday morning local time, 11:45pm Saturday night Mecca time the al-Fallujah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that about one hour before the report was submitted, Iraqi Resistance forces fired a barrage of 45 high explosive Grad rockets at US forces to the south and west of al-Fallujah. The resultant explosions were visible from a great distance.
The Resistance fired the rockets from mobile launchers to prevent American forces from striking back with heat seeking missiles.
At the time of writing the Resistance was firing mortars and Katyusha rockets at US troop concentrations from the ash-Shuhada’ and al-Jubayl neighborhoods, trying to catch the Americans in a crossfire. Meanwhile US aircraft were bombing the city in an attempt to reduce the pressure on American forces.
Meanwhile, fighting was still underway in the al-Jawlan neighborhood, but the intensity of combat had diminished in the al-Wahdah neighborhood in central al-Fallujah where a US column remains encircled.
Resistance wipes out US column cut off on al-Hadrah Street in al-Fallujah.
In a dispatch posted at 12:30am Sunday morning local time, 11:30pm Saturday night Mecca time the al-Fallujah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Resistance in al-Fallujah had completely wiped out the US column that had been encircled on al-Hadrah Street near the al-Hadrah Mosque in the city for three days.
US forces had tried to break through to the isolated US column on several occasions but all in vain. They even attempted peaceful means, proposing through loudspeakers a cease fire to the Resistance fighters earlier on Saturday. The Resistance, however, rejected the American appeal and continued encircling and striking the isolated US column until it was totally wiped out.
Resistance in al-Karmah and in al-Fallujah pound US troops from two sides.
Iraqi Resistance forces put US troops east of al-Fallujah in a pincer Saturday between the missiles of the Resistance in al-Karmah (north of al-Fallujah) and the missiles of the al-Fallujah Resistance.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Karmah wrote that the Resistance hit the US forces with 15 Grad rockets, compelling the Americans to scatter unorganized in the direction of the al-‘Askari neighborhood to the east of al-Fallujah. But there they were met by al-Fallujah Resistance fire which prevented them getting into the neighborhood.
Thereafter fighting broke out that lasted for about an hour and a half, at the end of which US forces retreated to lines behind where they had been in the first place behind the highway outside al-Fallujah.
US loosens its grip on al-Fallujah after making cease-fire appeal to the Resistance.
Many al-Fallujah families on Saturday were able to leave the city by the al-Azraqiyah crossing, which the US troops had opened up in an apparent attempt to show “good will” towards the residents of the city after the US appealed for a cease fire and negotiations.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that those leaving the city showed clear signs of the effects of days without food, water, or electricity, under savage US bombing. Their clothes were frequently tattered after they had been pulled from the ruins of their homes. Children wailed loudly from thirst and hunger.
Resistance pounds US forces in al-Fallujah cemetery.
Iraqi Resistance forces fired an intensive barrage of Grad rockets into the cemetery north of al-Fallujah where US aggressor forces are encamped on Saturday. Rumors were also circulating of something “important” happening after three days of the siege of the city if US forces had not withdrawn.
Puppet soldier tries to rape girl from al-Fallujah, saying ‘Allawi said they could do so.
In a dispatch posted at 11:45pm Saturday local time (10:45pm Mecca time) the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the al-Fallujah area reported that a puppet soldier in the so called “Iraqi national guard” recruited and run by the Americans tried to rape an Iraqi girl from al-Fallujah after she crossed the al-Azraqiyah crossing heading for as-Saqlawiyah. An American soldier stopped the outrage and, through a Lebanese interpreter, asked the Iraqi puppet soldier, “How can you do that?” The puppet soldier answered, according to the account of the girl who was the victim of the attempt, “Iyyad ‘Allawi said the women of al-Fallujah and all their money are free for us to take.”
Various news reports indicate that the puppet troops involved with the Americans in their offensive on al-Fallujah are drawn from the ranks of Shi‘i chauvinist bands under the leadership of clerics who support the American occupation. Troops from such backgrounds are inspired by sectarian bigotry.
By contrast, Shi‘i religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr issued a religious legal ruling [fatwa] saying that it was forbidden for any Shi‘i to take part in fighting against al-Fallujah.
US pleas for cease-fire, negotiations with Resistance in al-Fallujah.
In a dispatch posted Saturday at 7:14pm local time, 6:14pm Mecca time, the al-Fallujah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that in a repeat of the scenario played out in April this year, the US forces have called for a cease fire in al-Fallujah. American troops made their call using loudspeakers, requesting in addition, that talks be opened with the Iraqi Resistance. In a face-saving gesture, the US-installed puppet government of Iyyad ‘Allawi announced that it was now seeking a “peaceful solution” in al-Fallujah to “save lives,” having already approved the massive cluster bombing of the city.
The heavy casualties inflicted on the US forces are the main reason for the American appeal ミ casualties largely unreported in the US media. The American column that has been surrounded by the Resistance and cut off inside the city for three days also no doubt played a role in pushing the US to this conclusion, after American war vehicles failed to break the encirclement around the beleaguered Americans.
An idea of the scale of US losses can be gleaned from the fact that the burned out wrecks of 40 US tanks can be seen on al-Jumhuriyah Street alone, after a major turning point was reached in the fighting on Friday. On Friday Iraqi Resistance forces destroyed 25 American tanks. US troops had been parking tanks in a former ice factory but it was mined and blown up by the Resistance ミ prompting some media to report that some kind of huge bomb had been dropped.
Days after the start of the first assault on al-Fallujah last April Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops had made an appeal for a cease-fire and negotiations. That report was initially discounted around the world as “preposterous” but later proved to be correct. The same scenario is apparently now repeating itself.
Resistance turns back three US attempts Thursday night and through the day Friday to rescue trapped American column on al-Hadrah Street.
Thursday-Friday night and during the day Friday, Iraqi Resistance fighters in al-Fallujah destroyed 22 American tanks. Five wrecked tanks can be seen on ath-Tharthar Street, nine on al-Hadrah Street, the rest being scattered around the al-Jawlan neighborhood of al-Fallujah.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Fallujah reported that US forces attempted to distract Resistance fighters from the northern side of the city so that they could send a column of tanks into al-Hadrah Street where an American column was cut off and under attack. But the Resistance was aware of the US intentions and lay in wait for the attacking tank column, falling back to allow it to get into a trap, but not to break the encirclement of the beleaguered column.
US forces again tried to enter ath-Tharthar Street also in order to relieve the encircled column on al-Hadrah Street, but this second attempt to rescue the column also failed.
In a third attempt to relieve the encircled column on al-Hadrah street, US forces attempted to advance from the south, but this attempt also failed.
In news on Saturday the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that a massive explosion took place in the ash-Shuhada’ neighborhood. Thick smoke could be seen rising from the area at a distance of 10km. No further details were initially available about the blast, according to the correspondent in a dispatch posted at 8:05pm local time; 7:05pm Mecca time Saturday night.

The American Associated Press (AP) reported that the US military claimed that two Kiowa OH-58 helicopters were shot down by the Resistance northeast of al-Fallujah. It said that one Black Hawk UH-60 was shot down near at-Taji on Friday, wounding three crewmembers. The American propaganda statement gave no details about the fourth helicopter downed, though US spokesman mentioned bringing helicopter wreckage back to a military airbase.

The correspondent has been unable to find proper medical care due to the shortage of doctors in the city, after US forces attacked all the hospitals there.
