Iraq In Brief: Battles Continue To Rage As Resistance Employs News Tactics
Nov 08, 2004
By Omar al-Faris, JUS
Attacks are escalating across Iraq but news out of Iraq is getting scarcer every day as the occupying force and the puppet government put a tight lid on all communication in Iraq.
A spokes person for Islam Memo indicated that there are between 115-125 daily operations take place throughout Iraq during the glorious month of Ramadan but that their reporters could cover about 50% of those operations as a result of constant pressure and harassment by American occupiers and the puppet government. Due to this pressure, the number of their reporters has been reduced to a mere 20% of the original number. Further, their spokesman stated that many Iraqis are complaining about lack of coverage of many operations they witness every day but see no mention of in any news media. On the other hand, there are those who doubt the reported facts because they only believe what mainstream news media that operates under American influence feeds them. Many cities are now out of reach for reporters including Mosal, Tal Ghafar, Al-Haditha, Al-Mahmoudiah, Al-Yousifiah, Al-Latifiah, and Sammera and as the result, the uncensored news media that relies on Islam memoユs reporter network is also having difficulties getting information. Islam memo say they are underway with corrective measures in an effort to add more field reported and resume their nation-wide coverage.
Islam Memo is reporting that some 65 Americans were killed in the last 72 hours and several mechanized vehicles were destroyed. Resistance fighters have also executed a new type of attack for the first time against patrol boats in Basra.
Here are details of a few of the attacks that occurred over the weekend:
