The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) says more than 800,000 Afghan refugees voted in Pakistan and Iran in Saturday's presidential polls. The IOM has called this the biggest refugee vote ever held.

The turnout was very satisfactory, organisers say, although the decision by many candidates to boycott the polls had some impact abroad.

Preliminary figures show voter turnout was around 80% in Pakistan but much lower in Iran.
