The Americans arrest in Baghdad one of the Iraqi intermediaries
working for the liberation of
Georges Malbrunot and Christian Chesnot.

The French-Iraqi Friendship Association demand the liberation of Abdul
Jabbar Al-Kubaysi, President of the Iraqi Patriotic Alliance (IPA), arrested in Baghdad on3 rd September, by the US occupation forces.

For the American secret services Abdul Jabbar Al-Kubaysi served as
intermediary for France to obtain the liberation of Georges Malbrunot, Christian Chesnot and their Syrian driver, the abduction motives of whom remain very disturbing indeed.

According to the members of the Iraqi Patriotic Alliance an American
commando - protected by helicopters and armoured cars - carried out a raid at his home at 3 a.m., molesting and handcuffing him before taking him to an unknown destination.

Members of the American secret services later returned to his home for a
second earch, destroying doors, windows and furniture. Knowing what the US
interrogation methods are like, one is entitled to fear for the life of this Iraqi
politician.

Abdul Jabbar Al-Kubaysi was for a long time a political refugee in France,
where he took part during the last months to conferences of solidarity with the Iraqi resistance.

The Iraqi Patriotic Alliance (IPA) is a political re-grouping seeking to
unify the Iraqi resistance movement.
