A total of seventeen American soldiers have been killed and several others wounded in various locations inside Iraq in the past 24 hours as the resistance continues to escalate against US occupation.
At least five American invader soldiers were killed and four others wounded on Tuesday afternoon when two US Humvees were ambushed by the Iraqi Resistance, according to the correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. The Resistance fighters, who had been observing the US patrol, fired rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) at close range at them. The attack occurred in the Triangle on the road to ar-Ramadi not far from a palacial building located in that area, known as the Palace of Hajji Sami, a structure so well known among local people that it has given its name to the place. The Triangle is located a mere five kilometers from al-Fallujah.
Ten American Troops Reported Killed South Of Baghdad Monday Afternoon
Iraqi Resistance fighters on Monday afternoon used a roadside bomb to destroy one US Humvee that was carrying 10 American aggressor troops west of al-Yusufiyah, south of Baghdad, according to a correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam.
Ten minutes after the attack, US aggressor troops, as usual, closed off the area, preventing local people from walking through the area.
Once again the Iraqi Resistance has derived considerable benefit, the correspondent reports, from the American modifications to their transport vehicles that allow them to carry more passengers. Humvees have been adjusted to carry more than 12 persons, he reports, after two steel bars with seats on them have been added to the vehicle’s interior.
US Military Admits One Soldier Killed, Two Others Injured In “Traffic Accident” Monday
The US military admitted on Tuesday that one American soldier had been killed and two others wounded in a “traffic accident” north of Baghdad. Agence France Presse (AFP) reported that the troops belonged to the 1st Infantry Division and that the “accident” occurred near ad-Duwar, north of Baghdad.
US Admits One American Soldier Killed, Four Injured In Resistance Mortar Barrage
The US aggressor forces admitted on Tuesday that one of its invader troops was killed and four others wounded in fighting with the Iraqi Resistance near Baghdad. The casualties occurred when Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a US military base northwest of Baghdad with mortars. Agence France Presse (AFP) which carried the story offered no further details.
Eyewitnesses Contradict Reuters: At Least 20 Americans Killed Sunday
At least 20 US aggressor troops were killed east of al-Fallujah on Sunday on the road to as-Saqlawiyah when an explosives-laden car detonated in an enormous explosion reducing a US troop carrier to a heap of twisted burning metal, according to a report filed by the al-Fallujah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam.
A US patrol found the explosives-laden car and regarded it as suspicious. They detained the people for a period of time on the road, then opened it once again, whereupon the troop transport vehicle sped by the booby-trapped car which immediately exploded, inflicting heavy losses on the American invaders. High explosives had been planted in the car which was detonated by remote control.
More than eight separate al-Fallujah residents who witnessed the Iraqi Resistance car bombing have described the event. After the blast the US aggressors again closed the road preventing these people from getting past the area, but enabling them to watch as two large helicopters arrived and evacuated the corpses of the dead invader troops and the remains of the armored personnel carrier. The witnesses said that the helicopters took the bodies and wreckage off in a westerly direction – an area where a US base is located in an agricultural area. The same massive helicopters are used to transport all the equipment and in this case evidence, and the area is frequently then covered in sand so as to obscure all traces of fire or explosion.
The eyewitnesses refuted Reuters report that claimed at the time that only two American invader troops were killed in the attack. They also refuted the same report which said that a booby trapped car struck a Marine convoy. The witnesses say that there was no collision but simply a massive explosion set off by remote control. The witnesses say also that there was no convoy, only two Humvees – some of whose occupants were also injured from the force of the blast – and the armored personnel carrier. The witnesses also contradict the official American report, carried by Reuters, to the effect that rockets were fired at the vehicles. The death and destruction came only from the explosives-laden car, they say, and the blast took place 10km east of al-Fallujah.
The Mafkarat al-Islam reporter notes that due to heavy losses in equipment, the US aggressors have modified their vehicles to allow them to carry more passengers, by putting seats in the middle, allowing them to carry two rows and increasing the number of passengers by 80 percent. More occupants also means more casualties, in the event of an effective Resistance attack.
