THE MURDER OF DAVID KELLY
Dr. David Kelly went for a walk in the English countryside on July 17, 2003. He never made it back. He was found dead in a field near his home a short while later. Kelly, who was a member of the UN inspection team in Iraq looking for "weapons of mass destruction", died of bleeding from his slashed left wrist. Kelly ominously warned of "many dark actors playing games", in an e-mail sent hours before he bled to death from the slashed wrist. The message, sent to a journalist, appeared to refer to officials within the Ministry of Defense, and British intelligence agencies, with whom he had sparred over interpretations of Iraqi weapons reports, according to the New York Times. Kelly, was openly critical of his government's distortion and mishandling of intelligence supporting the United State's invasion of Iraq. They have declared it a suicide. They found a knife close to the body, and some pain killers were found nearby. These are the typical hallmarks of an assassination.
Those close to Dr. Kelly claim he was looking forward to enjoying his retirement next year. The last person to see him alive said he was smiling as he walked in the countryside near his home. Kelly was well known as a devoted family man, so why did he not leave a suicide note or explanation for the wife he has loved for so many years? The cut wrist, the bottle of pain killers found near the scene of death, are two classic suicide scenes, and are exactly what would be created to fool a gullible public, used to seeing such things in a TV soap opera suicide. However this is not consistent with the action of such a rational and intelligent man, who showed no signs of depression, and had survived the pressures of the Iraqi regime. Also, consider that treason is still a capital offense in Britain. Is it really believable that an intelligent and learned man like Kelly, would commit suicide in such a way, over a one line accusation?
Anyone with any knowledge of recent history know that a government and media with zero credibility cannot, and MUST not be believed. Only fools trust a liar a second time. A declaration of suicide by them does not make it a suicide. We've been down this path before, and we've been lied to before. The facts point in one direction. David Kelly was murdered. Was it a punishment, or a warning? Was it a mafia-like execution to hide the truth? The murder of Kelly, who was sent to Iraq to find the weapons of mass destruction allegedly manufactured and piled up by the Saddam Hussein government, has left no doubt to what extent the group of criminal-minded individuals responsible for the conflict in the Middle East would go to serve its vested interests.
Although all the government agencies in UK and the media in United States were trying to portray this seemingly cold blooded murder as a メsuspicious suicideモ, the circumstances that led to Dr. Kellyユs disappearance and death clearly indicate who should be held responsible for silencing a voice for sanity and truth. UN inspectors were under grave threat before the war. Before the war on Iraq, the US administration, acting like mafia gangsters, used all fair and foul tactics to justify a war on Iraq to appease some specific lobbies.
Top US officials were hurling threats to the UN inspectors and were pressuring them to declare that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. The diplomats representing the members of the Security Council were being threatened with dire consequences if their countries did not vote for a war resolution. It was not diplomacy. It was not statesmanship. It was abuse of power and authority for which both George W. Bush and Tony Blair are personally responsible.

When Blair faced tough criticism because of a report that he intentionally exaggerated the facts, and added fiction to his analyses, to sell the war plans to the people of Britain, the source of the criticism was killed. Days before Kelly's death, Tory leader Iain Duncan Smith called on Tony Blair to apologize for the treatment of Dr. Kelly. Speaking at prime minister's questions, Blair refused to apologize. Was Kelly's murder the punishment for speaking to the media, and disclosing what the truth was? Or was it a warning to other inspectors and government officials that they could be murdered if they spoke the truth? The British Broadcasting Corp. has admitted that scientist David Kelly was its main source for a story about the British government's "sexing up" the dossier on Iraqi weapons.
Scott Ritter, who worked with him as part of the UN weapons inspections team in Iraq, said he was a man of "integrity, character, and somebody who cared deeply about his country". "I will never forget the way he always insisted to me, no matter what political pressure that was put on us, that we had to tell the truth, absolutely the truth". "Maybe this is part of why this terrible event has taken place."
The truth about what really happened to David Kelly will never be told by the mainstream media. The wars rage on, the lies and coverups continue, and the media has found new flavors of the week to decieve and distract the masses. But one thing should be remembered about David Kelly. He told the truth about the fraud that the Iraq war was based on. And for that, he paid the ultimate price.
