アメリカがイスラムとイスラム教徒に対する最新の十字軍戦争を開始してから614日が過ぎた。
大勢のムスリム捕虜がこの十字軍に捕らえられてキューバのグアンタナモ湾へ連行された。
彼等はキューバで無理やり顎鬚を剃られ、マラリアや熱射病、他の熱帯病に罹りやすい籠に入れられている。
●アフガニスタン内閣の不和

アフガニスタン暫定内閣の間の不和が拡大していて、数人の大臣が態度を変えてきているという報告が続いている。
民衆の目には、アメリカが就任させたハミッド・カルザイ大統領の立場がますます不利なように見える。

カルザイは会議に出席していなかったので、副大統領Ameen Irsalaにがセッションの議長を務めた。
議事の間に、アフガンの一部の大臣たち（主に北部同盟出身の大臣）が立ち上がってカルザイを非難した：
「カルザイは、数百万ドルもの金をイギリスとアメリカの銀行に移した。同様に、金額は定かではないが、パキスタンの銀行にも移した」
これらの批判に応えて、カルザイ支持の大臣たちは、ドイツの銀行に蓄財している外務大臣アブドゥラ博士と国防大臣カーシム・ファーヒム将軍を非難した。
政権内部のこの潜在的な火ダネにより、来年に予定されていた総選挙は延期されると思われる。
これに加えて、全国で8万人の有権者登録のうち、5万人が北部同盟が拠点をおく地域からの登録だという問題がある。
総選挙は2004年6月18日に予定されていたが、多数の将軍のカルザイ氏に対する憎悪が著しく増しているため、選挙の期日は無期限に延長された。
ハミッド・カルザイは、法と秩序を維持出来ず、全てのアフガニスタン人を襲っている金融危機を軽減することができなかった。
総選挙は、UNHCR、欧州連合とアフガニスタンの数名の元大臣がモニターすることになっていた。

Differences Widen Within the Afghan Cabinet
PESHAWAR (AZZAM):
Continuing reports of widening differences within the interim Afghan cabinet and changing attitudes among several Afghan ministers appear to add to the unfavourable standing of the US-installed Afghan president Hamid Karzai in the eyes of the people of Afghanistan.
Pro-Northern Alliance newspapers openly heap criticism upon Hamid Karzai for his management of the government.
One example of this rift occurred during a cabinet meeting held soon after Mr. Karzai returned from the United Kingdom.
Since he was not present at the meeting, the session was chaired by the vice president Ameen Irsala.
During the proceedings some Afghan ministers, mainly from the Northern Alliance, stood up and accused Hamid Karzai of transferring millions of dollars to British and US banks, as well as an undisclosed amount to a bank in Pakistan.
In retaliation to these remarks, ministers supporting Karzai accused foreign minister Dr Abdullah and defence minister Gen.Qasim Faheem of hoarding money in German banks.
Due to this potential powder-keg situation within the administration, it is expected that general elections planned for the coming year would be postponed.
Adding to the problem is the fact that there only eighty thousand registered voters have been listed in the whole country, with around fifty thousand coming from the Northern Alliance strongholds.
The general elections were scheduled to be held on June 18, 2004, but because of the significant increase in hatred for Mr. Karzai from the general masses, the date has been put back indefinitely.
Hamid Karzai has failed to maintain law and order in the country and alleviate the financial crisis affecting all Afghans.
The general elections were to be monitored by the UNHCR, the European Union and some former Afghan ministers.
