●聖戦士の攻撃で連合軍兵士16名死亡
カブール（アッザーム）：
アフガン南東部における聖戦士の攻撃で、連合軍兵士16名が死亡、軍用車4台が完全に破壊された。
米部隊は、5人聖戦士を殺したと主張した。
アフガニスタンの聖戦士は、パクティアの州都ガルデズとコーストをつなぐサト・カンド地域に地雷を敷設した。
連合軍の護送隊がこの地域を通過する予定だった。
後刻、聖戦士はサト・カンド山頂で連合軍の護送隊を待伏せた。
ムジャヒディン情報筋は、「連合軍護送隊の先頭が山頂に接近するやいなや聖戦士は、前もってシェクナイー地区に敷設しておいた地雷を爆破した。その結果、軍用車は破壊され、連合軍兵士4名が死亡した」と、話した。
同時に、聖戦士部隊はロケット、機関銃と手榴弾で逃走するアメリカ部隊を攻撃した。
7人の連合軍兵士がその場で死亡、他に多数の者が致命傷を負った。また、米軍の軍用車2台が完全に破壊された。
水曜日、ガルデズ市の郊外のサイッド・ガルデズ地区で世戦士が米軍の車輌を爆破した。
5人のアメリカ兵が死亡、他に多数が致命傷を負った。
バグラムの米軍スポークスマンは、この攻撃による負傷者は1名だと話した。
スポークスマンはまた、ガルデズ郊外での聖戦士との戦闘で、聖戦士5名が死亡、2名が重傷を負ったと話した。
米軍スポークスマンは、聖戦士はガルデズ市とザーマトを繋ぐ地域で、米軍と市民の協力チームを待伏せたが、米軍は上空からの援護でこれを退け、攻撃者5名を殺害、2名に傷を負わせたと付け加えた。
アフガニスタンの内務大臣アリ・アーメド・ジャラーリは、マザリシャリフで2人の司令官が人権侵害を理由に逮捕されたと話した。
ヒズビ-ワーダットのアミーヌッラー・ザラブ・アリとジャミアト・イスラミのタジク人司令官ハシーブッラー・クレシはカブールへ送られた。彼等はそこで法的に起訴されるだろう。
国連は、アフガン南部と南東部での地雷除去作業の停止を宣言した。
カブールの国連報道官アルマダ・デシルバは、先週ガルデズで身元不明の男達が地雷除去の専門家を襲い、1人が死亡、他に8名が命にかかわるような怪我をしたと話した。

●米軍の車輌を破壊
パクティア（アッザーム）：
ガルデズで地雷の爆発により米軍の車輌2台が破壊された。
この事件は、ガルデズ中心部から30Kmのところで起きた。
聖戦士部隊が地雷を敷設したと考えられる。しかしながら、犠牲者の詳細は全く届いていない。
その報復として米部隊は、その地域の聖戦士を掃討するために戸別の捜索作戦を開始した。
米部隊はまた、捜索の一部として、宗教機関を立ち入り禁止にした。

A number of Muslim prisoners were captured in this Crusade and taken to Guantanamo Bay in Cuba where their beards were forcibly shaved and they are being held in cages subject to Malaria, heatstroke and other tropical diseases.
16 Coalition Soldiers Killed in Mujahideen Attacks
KABUL (AZZAM):
Mujahideen attacks in south eastern Afghan provinces left sixteen coalition troops dead while four military vehicles were totally destroyed.
The US troops claimed to have martyred five Mujahideen.
Afghan Mujahideen laid down land mines in Sato Kandro region connecting Paktia's capital Gardez and Khost.
The coalition troops convoy was scheduled to pass through this region.
Later on Mujahideen ambushed the coalition troops convoy from Sato Kandro mountain peak.
Mujahideen sources said that as soon as the first part of the coalition convoy approached the mountain peak, they detonated land mines laid earlier in Sheknaee region due to which a US military vehicle was destroyed killing four troops instantly.
At the same time Mujahideen units targeted the fleeing US troops with rockets, machine guns and hand grenades.
In this attack two US military vehicles were completely destroyed while seven coalition troops were killed on the spot and many others sustained life threatening injuries.
Mujahideen remotely detonated a US military vehicle in Syed Gardez region outside Gardez city on Wednesday.
Five US troops were killed and several others sustained life threatening injuries in this attack.
The US military spokesman at Bagram said that only one US troop sustained injury in this attack.
The spokesman also said that in an encounter with Mujahideen outside Gardez, five Mujahideen were martyred while two were seriously injured.
The US spokesman added that Mujahideen ambushed a US military civil cooperation team in a region connecting Gardez city and Zarmat, but US air support forced them to retreat and killed five attackers and injured two.
Afghan interior minister Ali Ahmed Jalali said that two commanders have been arrested in Mazar-e-Sharif on account of violation of human rights.
Hizb-e-Wahdat's Ameenullah Zarab Ali and Jameeat Islami's Tajik commander Haseebullah Qureshi were shifted to Kabul where they will face legal prosecution.
The UN has declared suspension of land mine removal operations in southern and south eastern Afghan provinces.
The UN spokesman in Kabul Almada Desilva said that last week unknown men attacked land mine removal experts in Gardez due to which one was killed and eight others received life threatening injuries.

US Military Vehicles Destroyed by Mujahideen
PAKTIA (AZZAM):
A land mine explosion has destroyed two US military vehicles in Gardez.
The event took place in a region 30km from the center of Gardez.
It is most likely that Mujahideen units laid the mines, however details of any casualties have not come through.
In response, US troops have begun house-to-house search operations in a bid to flush out Mujahideen in the area.
US troops have also sealed off a religious institution as part of their search.
