Mulla Umar Nominates Maulvi Shahab Uddin Dilawar as Vice
PESHAWAR (AZZAM):
The supreme leader of the Taliban Mulla Umar has nominated former chief justice as his vice.
This was stated in a pamphlet released by unknown Mujahideen source in district Warmal of Kandahar.
It stated that Ameer-ul-Mumineen and founder of the Taliban movement has nominated former Taliban foreign minister to Saudi Arabia and former chief justice Maulvi Shahab Uddin Dilawar as his deputy.
It further stated that Mulla Umar has taken this step to manage training of jihad and to organize the Taliban movement and thus all powers which he holds have now been transferred to Maulvi Shahab.
Sources disclose that this pamphlet was distributed in great numbers in southern and some eastern Afghan border provinces in the past few days.
Maulvi Shahab Uddin is a scholar of Islam and holds a respectful position among Taliban ranks.
Although it has yet to be confirmed whether he has agreed to Mulla Umar's decision.
It must be noted that a Taliban leader Maulvi Shahab Uddin managed to escape from US encirclement just last week, after which all reports about him ceased.
Herat : Two Afghan Policemen Killed due to Infighting
CHAMAN (AZZAM):
In Afghan province of Herat, internal strife led to the killing of two Afghan policemen while five others sustained life threatening injuries.
Rocket launchers and heavy artillery were casually used in the clashes.
The clashes occurred among government troops.
Later on Special Operation Forces found ammunition reserve near Jalalabad.
