A number of Muslim prisoners were captured in this Crusade and taken to Guantanamo Bay in Cuba where their beards were forcibly shaved and they are being held in cages subject to Malaria, heatstroke and other tropical diseases.
Thirteen Taliban and Al-Qaida Prisoners Released from Guantanamo Bay
WASHINGTON (AZZAM):
The US announced the release of thirteen Taliban and al-Qaida prisoners from Camp X-ray in Guantanamo bay.
These 13 prisoners will now be handed over to the Afghan Interim government.
A Pentagon spokesman did not give any other details regarding the identities of the prisoners.
Information from other sources say that these 13 prisoners were handed to the Afghan government, which will further delay their release.
So far 36 prisoners including these 13 have been released from Guantanamo Bay where at present 600 Mujahideen are being held.
Ferocious Explosions Near US Consulate in Kabul During Armitage Stay at Kabul
KABUL (AZZAM):
During the US Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage's visit to Kabul, two ferocious explosions occurred near the US consulate building.
The explosions were heard from far distances.
Voice of Germany reports that Armitage has termed the situation in Afghanistan as unstable, the explosion further adding to his frustration.
US authorities are worried increasingly of Taliban guerrilla raids which will pose threat to the long term US plans for the region.
The Indian government is also worried of Taliban regrouping despite the friendliness between itself and the current Afghan government.
The BBC verified the explosions and accounts with reference to its spokesman that the intensity of the explosions forced the residents of Kabul to come out of their homes in great tension.
It is thought to be a huge rocket attack.
US warplanes were seen flying frantically, immediately after the explosions.
Despite the increase in security by peace keeping troops during the visit of Armitage the explosions took place, further highlighting the fact that Taliban and al-Qaida are fully operational.
