Вернувшиеся дипломаты рассказали, почему они попали под обстрел
миссия
Вчера поздно вечером на подмосковном аэродроме приземлился самолет МЧС с российскими дипломатами из Багдада. Рейс прилетел из сирийской столицы Дамаска. Его встречал специальный корреспондент Ъ АНДРЕЙ Ъ-КОЛЕСНИКОВ.
Прибытие самолета сопровождалось необычайным ажиотажем. Когда мы подъезжали к аэродрому в Жуковском, нас с ревом обогнали несколько машин Центра медицины катастроф. До этого утверждалось, что на борту только легкораненые.
У въезда на территорию аэропорта стояли несколько человек в штатском. Они вполголоса говорили о том, что должен был приехать министр иностранных дел Игорь Иванов, но когда стало ясно, что посол России в Ираке Владимир Титоренко остается пока в Дамаске ждать своего раненого водителя из Ирака, то и Игорь Иванов послал вместо себя -- нет, не водителя, конечно, а своего заместителя Александра Салтанова.
Замминистра опаздывал и все время звонил на летное поле.
-- Нет, Александр Владимирович,-- отвечали ему,-- еще не прилетел. А, вот летит!
К самолету побежали пограничники и таможенники. Еще через десять минут начали выходить пассажиры. Первым появился немолодой человек с перебинтованной головой. Даже издалека было видно, что бинты свежие, положили их только что.
Второй пассажир, вышедший из самолета, сильно прихрамывал. Он тоже быстро прошел в "скорую", попытавшись закрыть лицо воротником куртки и букетом цветов. Он категорически не хотел разговаривать с журналистами. Я все-таки задал ему несколько вопросов.
-- Почему вы не хотите разговаривать?
-- Я жду встречи с родными.
-- Вас ранили?
-- Да,-- подумав, ответил он.
-- Куда?
-- Посол все расскажет.
-- Но он же не прилетел.
-- Прилетит и расскажет.
-- А вы не можете?
-- Я---- удивился он.---- Я нет!
-- А кем вы работаете в посольстве?
-- Я? Ну...---- он не на шутку задумался. ---- Допустим, атташе. Так нормально?
-- Нормально. А зовут-то вас как?

У трапа стоял сотрудник МЧС, летавший этим самолетом в Дамаск из Москвы.
-- Ну как там? ---- его спрашивали как очевидца сражений.
-- Американцы там мочат всех подряд,-- как очевидец, он и отвечал.? Ух, если бы мы так воевали в Чечне, что бы с ней было...
В его голосе слышалась какая-то мечтательность.
Вышел еще один человек, сотрудник посольства Роман Юданов. Он был спокоен и даже немного рассеянно улыбался.
-- Как все произошло?
-- Ну, развернули нас с маршрута, который мы обговаривали накануне во всех подробностях и с американцами, и с иракцами. Поехали мы, куда нам сказали. А там бой.
-- Уже шел?
-- Вовсю! Мы и оказались под перекрестным огнем.
-- Говорили, что перед вами ехали две машины с вооруженными иракцами и никого из них в живых не осталось.
-- Да, кажется, не осталось,? подтвердил Роман.? Только они не были вооружены. Это были обычные таксисты, везли беженцев, видимо, в Иорданию. Они обогнали наши машины перед самой деревушкой, в которую мы въехали.
-- То есть поторопились они вас обогнать?
-- Да, чуть--чуть поторопились.
-- Американцы, выходит, понятия не имели ни об изменении маршрута, ни о том, что это российская колонна?
-- Да к ним какие претензии? Бой же шел. Мы прямо в этот бой и въехали.
Оператор ТВЦ Александр Терентьев, прилетевший этим же рейсом, рассказал, как это получилось.
-- Шоссе, по которому мы ехали, было перекрыто. Иракцы нас развернули. Мы взяли правее. Там вообще пробка из гражданских машин образовалась. И тут в подбитом танке, на обочине, начал рваться боезапас. Рядом с нами. Тогда и принято было решение рвануть дальше. Вот и рванули...
Замминистра Александр Салтанов, впрочем, видит все происшедшее иначе. Возможно, конечно, со стороны виднее. Господин Салтанов сказал сотрудникам информагентств, что изменения маршрута, можно сказать, и не было вовсе.
-- Как же так? ---- попытался позже уточнить у него я.? А дипломаты и журналисты говорят, что маршрут поменяли.
-- Ну, если и было изменение, то незначительное.
-- Ничего себе! Ехали люди прямо, а их разворачивают направо под углом 90 градусов.
-- Что вы вообще имеете в виду? ---- рассердился он.-- 100 метров -- это незначительное-- Или 100 километров?
Он развернулся и ушел. А я имел в виду, что когда идет война и нет линии фронта, каждый метр имеет значение.
Этим рейсом прилетели 8 дипломатов. Предполагалось, что прилетят 12. У выезда с территории аэродрома стояли родственники этих восьмерых. Их не пустили на летное поле, в отличие от журналистов. Они терпеливо ждали. Показались машины с мигалками. Возле родственников эти машины притормозили. Из одной вышел Роман Юданов, обнял разрыдавшуюся маму и скомандовал: "Все! Домой!"
Три женщины так и не встретили своих. Наверное, их предупреждали, что не прилетят. Но они все равно поехали встречать. И вы бы поехали.

7 апреля российский посол в Ираке Владимир Титоренко обвинил американских военных в преднамеренном обстреле российской дипломатической колонны.
По словам посла, "огонь велся американцами преднамеренно".
В свою очередь, военные специалисты, осмотревшие пулевые пробоины в машинах российской дипломатической колонны, заявили, что все они - от американских винтовок М-16.

Одну машину пришлось бросить, поехали дальше. Приблизительно в 15 км увидели колонну джипов, остановились, чтобы не провоцировать.
